Bombers.. the forgotten Meat
« on: January 13, 2002, 11:18:19 PM »
Whelp.. it would seem I have a few buff points to spill, and while totin a coupla jato pods around on a gunless sausage and dangling myself tantilizingly close to e packin fighters only to squeeze the jet tit and bolt away at 650 mph was fun fer awile,  I find it's less thrilling lately.

I could be doin something effective and useful.. like killin cockroaches dashing from those funky lil roach motels whenever a c47 shows up. Or carpet bombing rooks and knits airfields that used ta be ours whilst gunning alt monkie buff stalkers at 35k with all them useless points..

So, I pose the following question based on little more than insomnia and a burning desire to post yet another dweeby poll with this 'totaly kewl' new BBS..

The Question.. which of the above planes would you pick to fly if yah too toasted to fly a fighter and/or had a few perkies to burn?

Well, I voted for the Condor. However, what I'd really like to see instead of the Condor is a HE177 or so, together with the ability to carry Fritz X anti-shipping missiles. The condor could carry those too though. As for a plane, wich could replace those two, and maybe the gigant (except the possibility to carry veichles and stuff) would be the JU290. How about this, Fritz X missile capebility. Troop capebilty (perk goon) and all this with 5x20mm MG151's for defence.

While the HE-177 or the JU-290 were not included I did vote.

IMO we need the 'Baka' bomb for many, many reasons.

Another low to medium attack bomber forgotten here.  The A20 Havoc.  It was fast, could fly 330mph.  During DDay and the days following, it was used extensively.  I read a few articles that pilots flew it so low over the hedgerows, that their props cut swaths through the hedgerows.  Had guns in the nose also like the B25 and the A26.

Yep.. i like the A20 too.. but it's very similar to the b26 in capability, and is the A26A's direct ancestor. Not really perk meat.

Intresting to note the A26A has a lead in the poll... keep them votes commin; and add any intresting types I missed.

Thanks hajo!

I'm not sure if this would be a perk or not, but add this to the list

Frances

Of course, I would also love to see the DB-7/A-20 series (This is a HTC kind of plane, because there are so many variations for so many different countries they can get alot of mileage out if it) and I would also love to see the B-24, B-25, Pe-2, Tu-2 and He-177 before I see any of the aircraft in the poll. But I chose the A-26, because it is such an awesome plane. However, if HTC did add the A-26, I would have the glass nosed version as the standard model and make the gun nosed version perked. :)
