Ahhh...I lost 70 Perk points (bomber) a few minutes ago because I didn't take off.  I mean I never started up or anything...went to runway, thought better of my location to up the 234, did not start engines, exited to tower, moved to a differen't field and ..."you do not have enough points for that plane".  I thought as long as you didn't "lose" your perk plane you retained the points??

I know how you feel. Took up a TA152 first sortie of 1.06, climbed and climbed, got to 17k saw a couple dots, no icons, flying along, all of a sudden I locked up. Nothing but the reset button on the box would get me out of it! I haven't had AH lock up in over a year, and my first 'perk' sortie I lose 70 perks and never even got to get a feel for the bird. I'm afraid to try another for fear of lock up. Think I'll save the perk plane flying for H2H until I'm sure it's not the new version locking me up. Plenty of 38's to fly still.......

Ive had this happen TWICE with the arado now.

I take off, go bomb something, return to base, land on runway, cut engine and type .ef

SYSTEM: You have been killed.

140 whoopee points lost to this crap now!

it happened at about 5pm and again at 11pm.

I noticed 2 or 3 other people saying the same thing happened to them about an hour ago aswell.

Heh...had the exact same thing happen to me SwampRat.  For me it was the NE runway of A45 - hit NE takeoff button, didn't move, hit exit, and for some reason it was counted as a ditch and not a successful landing.

Fortunately, I still had the points available to fly the Arado.  Unfortunately, I lost it to a disco 1/2 hour later.  D'oh!

I guess this will give me a chance to fly the rest of the fighters, anyhow

Wobble - how did you get 70 perk points in an arado sortie, considering people are already saying how it doesn't have a bombload and can't defend itself? Even when bombing a training facility in a lanc, I couldn't get more than 50 points.

What I ment is that because it said i was killed,  70 of my points went up in a hot fart twice, even though i had landed stopped and turned off engine..i must have busted my bellybutton getting out or something.

Same problem here, rolled arado, bombed enemy field. RTB'd, overstressed gear on approach, so I pulled em back up made a perfect belly landing.  Ended up no damage (both eng's still running) sitting square on the runway.
Exited, counted it as a ditch, - 69.25 perk points for the sortie.

Guys,
If you go on the runway of a medium or bigger base the spawn point for bombers is on the apron of the runway (slightly gray in color), not on the active runway.  A fighter will spawn on the active.

This is to simulate the extra run length the bombers need, is my guess.  Anyway to avoid this, do not just spawn and .ef.  Pull up a little to get completely on the Active and then .ef.

Last night I .efluffied on the runway (I flew the Arado exclusively) and never had a problem.

Yup, what he said.

Another reason we need an 'abort' catagorey/command

Because its not a bug, I'm thinking.  This has been with us since day 1.  If you are not on the active runway you will get a ditch when you .ef.

When you spawn in a bomber, you are not on the active runway, (and now I'm thinking this appplies to small bases also) you are on the runway's apron.  All you have to do is pull up a little onto the active and then .ef out.
