Lord of The Rings part 2
« on: January 15, 2002, 04:47:13 AM »
Second thread, but from a non-tard normal crowd review. I never read the books, never cared about this type of topic. I went to see it cuz Animal said it was good. Normally I would not see it, but just to spite the little O.J. wannabe I did.

However, it rocks, see it on the BIG SCREEN. Star Wars and that worthless fukshit yakin monkey-thing is WAY off this masterpiece.

That's all.

Read the books... they're better. Star Wars was inspired by Tolkiens world I've read somewhere.

I  agree, movie was awesome and I'm going to see it again soon.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

With rare exception, the book is always better. One exception is Star Wars. :D

I've never liked fantasy myself, but think the film was great. I'm holding off reading the books until the rest of the trilogy is released. A couple of years by the look of it.

for me, the movie was better than the book as it got the point across without all the details & fluff you need in a book so ur imagination can picture it well.

as not being a D&D type, the movie did the trick. I will watch the 2nd and third flick, but really doubt I'll commit the time to read the books before hand..

but if you are into the magic, elf, troll stuff the book would be great for ya, maybe it'd help if I'd read it 30 years ago when I was 12 but wasn't interested in it then either, to busy building ww2 plane models :)

"Star Wars was inspired by Tolkiens world I've read somewhere."

Star Wars was pretty much a straight rip-off of Kurusawa's "Hidden Fortress".

That was eaiser than saying " not some trekkie Middle Kindom Elf fanatsy Green Socks and Sandles wearing Lord of the Rings groupie with "snork" or "snicker" in my vocabulary. Meaning people not into the fantasy thing. Which of course backs up my point, good flick, anyone would like it.

Now go mention your boat you named after striving to be a assistant to who knows what at a lay-off ridden company in the heart of the economic rich America, the Northwest? Lol, too funny. Now I see why your laughing.

yeah, I liked it... but they left to much out. It shoulda been a seven hour movie instead of three.

I am very happy that my opinions are influencing your real life decisions. Did your new mail-order wife like it too?

I thought it was great, and I almost had a boner when that Elf Liv Tyler girl drowned those wraiths with the horse-water spell thingie.

Star Wars (original three episodes) and LOTR are the same story.
