Self policing community feature suggestion

Westy pointed to a post by a abused potential customer on AGW, which brought up wave of attacks and denials regarding qualities of this and other communities. But the main fact still remains:

- There always were, still are and will be, amazinhunks to the 9th degree in any arena and any game, who will abuse newbies for their own joy and pleasure. "Please be nice" posts will have short lifed effect, regardless of how well meaning they are.

So, to the practical suggestions:

- HT has long ago stated that he does not want to turn off channel 1 for everyone since this is supposed to be a social game. Good reason, while i might not agree entirely, it's his game :D

So, how about "sharable squetch lists" online, avaiable to all users.
I can go to notepad, click on setup, squelch lists: List comes up:

Nanies online list
Mothers unite list
..... ( and others )

I click on nanies and i see that author's of that list are:
"guy a guy b guy c " whom i know and resect. They posted a message in the list that states
"This list..... we squeltch only the most abusive members in the arena"
Also, i see the list of those squelched:
...
...
gunman42
...
..

I like the list, i click option "make this my current list" and from now on, unless i change it, everytime i log in, this list is in effect.

Number of groups could have thier one lists, squadrons and other conserned individuals. Any newbie could be easily instructed on how to apply one, and use it. Something like that could be e-mailed to him with his password, and prabably save him some headaches.

Just an idea, let me know what you think.

End still remains that we have to police ourselfes. HTC would have to get 3 more staffer's to do that for us.

Would work for me. That or my own list, whichever.  Either way it would be nice to have.

I figure if it isn't a problem, won't or can't be cleaned up then we really need to be provided a better set of ear plugs - a saveable and persistant squelch list.

How about:  If player, "JeRkOff" is squelched by X percent of the players tuned to a particular channel, then JeRkOff can't transmit on that channel.

Could be abused, but at least it would reflect the standards of the community.
