I'm totally harmless in reality, but even a doe will defend her fawns. ;)

ROFLMAO!

Very flattering to be the target of the Whine of the Week!

The CV was just NW of 48. I had just popped the shore battery. The vast majority of the enema pilots were looking for LTV's from the CV. What Wegamanx didn't know was that 3 goons were approaching from the SW. When I saw him running the CV NE away from the field, I chose to stop it so that the enemas would continue to look it's way...and not where the goons were. About 5 minutes after I changed the course, Wegamanx screams "turn the cv". Well, NO ONE was in command of the CV at that point. He could have changed the course. Guess it was more important to him to have the opportunity for Whine of the Week :D .

The upshot was that he gave me about 5 minutes of grief on private because I had gotten the CV sunk and ruined his plan. Course, couple minutes after he logged, the tourists had checked in and 48 was ours :) .

Bottomline...we got 48 and that was all that mattered to me.

BTW, thanks to the squaddie that sent me the link for this...its a hoot!

If you are going to use a CV for an attack, I would suggest you have a cap over it to keep the B17's out of the way.  As much your fault as anyone else's.  and its only a game. :)

NB,

I assume your side owned the home port in which case the CV would just re-spawn.  Then your tactic was definitely the right one.  If not, and you gave the enemy another CV group, then your squaddies should cut you up into little pieces and hang ur  metaphoric b@""s from a metaphoricrutland tree:D.

One small thing escapes me, (oi! not that small thing;) ), if you wanted the cv somewhere else why didn'y you just keep an eye out and shift it when the buffs arrived?

Actually, I was a tad busy dogfighting a 109 in my b26 at the time. Not really sure how effective shifting CV's is. Frankly, the only time I see that work is when I am the one bombing the damned things :) .

So lemme get one thing straight (ahh that's better).  You are fighting a 109 in a septic tank and you still have spare brain capacity to worry about the cv and/or the possible capture of A48.

You da man:p

Not to be a jerk but Ive known Nobady for a long time under difrent names and met the guy in person. junoir or senior member doesn't meen much when he has been active in this community (online WWII flight sims like Air warrior and warbirds) for longer then most of us have been playing online flight sims, and probably done more for it then most of us combined.

Mayhem, you missed my "tongue-in-cheek" humor.

I know and have met NoBaddy as well and agree with your assessment.

I've always been under the impression that if somone is in command of a CV, it's really rude to take that command away. At the very least, its polite to ask the person if they mind. Of course, if you don't give a rip, then being rude isn't something that's gonna bother you all that much. Higher rank doesn't mean non smelly excrement. Most of the time it just means you have more free time to fly than others :p

Gremlin...

Moi? Spare brain capacity? Shirley you jest :D.I stopped the CV from running behind the island prior to playin with the 109. I also gave up command after changing it, precisely, so that anyone else could move it if need be.

Luxx...

Yes...it was rude. I did it once before and got cussed out for it, hence, I don't make a habit of it. I did feel the circumstances warrented it though.

Max...

My 'member' is at least as senior as yours :D .
