Nothing eloquent or funny to add, just an observation:

This guy is so caught up in the romance and minutae of his perceived history that he doesn't understand the online flight sim community (assuming this isn't a troll, and boy it has the makings of one).

I agree, tankers did whine about the Sherman. I seem to remember reading about a possible government investigation into the industry, hinting at negligence or some similar charge? Tankers, help me. Seems the Sherman lost 4 for every Tiger they killed, that sure would make me whine.  

Simply put, the lead post was pure pontification, and rather aimless at that. Rendered to its base elements we have we're too good for you and we want you to know it. Nothing constructive, no purpose.

Perhaps my grandfather, who was killed in an M4 Sherman, would've lived to see his own daughter(my mother) if someone had squeaked a little more about the crappy design of the Sherman.

Anyway, I do agree with some of your points, although you could've expressed yourself more eloquently.
