fatty and i were "de-acking" a base last night in P47s, after i had used up all rockets and bombs, we then turned to the 8 .50s to flatten the ack.

moral of the story, .50s don't work to well on ack!

so, just how tough are they? how many rounds of .50s does it take to kill and ack? i know its a piece of cake with almost any cannon equiped AC.

anyone shed some light?

.50's are the best guns to use on acks. Last night I had extreme 'rubber bullet syndrome' along with spikes in connects under netstatus, so, I'll bet the massive downloads going on had something to do with it.

That does seem odd; I was de-acking with impunity in the 51B- 4x.50's! The only trouble is it doesn't carry enough ammo to do the job and CAP.

Mason, 8 X .50's work Wonders on Acks (No need to stay on it, just "pass through"), Howver there is a BUG at certain places (or is it a connection matter) that some VH acks won't go Down at all with Guns.

I deack fields almost exclusively in P47 D30...when I decide to fly US iron, that is

That might be it SAW, it was a VH ack. Befuddled as I'd strafed it 2 times, with engine out I laid 8 50s on it for about 5 seconds before dying with no damage. Later I took some acks out with the YAK mg, so it could have been just that one.

Do a search in the "Bug report forum" on "VH acks", it nearly beats the ammount of "CV Acks" whines

2 Rockets will do the job...if you aim better than I do

Its some kind of bug fatty. I've had it happen to me on VH ack on several occurances. Put a rocket on it and the problem is solved

If you ever want to witness the best field de-acker in AH, come Knit and fly as an observer with Blitz.

2 passes and ALL field ack is down with P51D with only guns, thats 8 acks in two passes.(minus VH ack, that requires a 3rd pass due to location)

VMF-323 is proud to have him on our squadron.

Usually all you have to do is pee on an ack and it will go down, strange that it took multiple strafes like that.

Hmmm....I've always found the 6 .50s of the Stang more than enough to deack a field and get a few vulches

.

I've even deacked with some of those useless .303s on a Spit 5, saving the cannon for planes. I dont think ack requires alot of damage to take out unless they changed it with this version.
