Why are people so dumb?
« on: January 21, 2002, 07:27:34 PM »
Rooks been getting butts kicked all day in main.

I tried to organize a FUN mission to capture a field. Nobody would join. I could have been my charming personality or the fact that I did not take a shower today that kept them away, but I honsetly feel it was because 1) they are all dumb or 2) they hate to have fun or 3) the like getting their tulips beat all day.

Am I the only one in rookland that understands the best, easiest, and most fun way to take a field is to create a mission?

Do these idiots not understand the importance of having all your aircraft arrive over the target at the same time in order to overwhelm the enemy??

Maybe they perfer arriving 1 at a time, so the 3 guys defending the field can shoot them down ONE AT A TIME.

I organized a mission 2 days a go to take D65, I pulled teeth for 30 min and finally got 10 typhoons and 3 c47 to take off at the same time. And you know what??????? we captured the target! know what else??????????? IT WAS DAMN FUN!!!!!!!!!

I'm done.......... blood pressure is lower now..... Think I'll join the knights and makes some missions to take rook fields...

:(

Refer yourself to Laz's current "masturbation" thread for your answer.

The point is, there aren't many 'leader types' in the Rooks. The Rooks have our own share of talented pilots, but nobody organizes them in any sort of way. Of course, by 'organized' I don't mean a pin-point precision missions or sort, just nobody gives out even the most vague concept of advisory whcih people might actually listen to.

Well, in fact, there are quite lot of people who repeatedly complain and harass :D the other guys 'what to do' and 'not to do'... but since it ain't no army, nobody listens to them either.. Even though those harassments are irritating to listen to, most often they are correct observations, too.

Knights have a good share of well organized squads who put up a lot of missions on large scale, and people seem to naturally follow them (be it a 'gangbang planner' or 'mission planner' :) ).. though they may not know it, those organized squadsmen act as natural leaders to give out directions and objectives which the 'norm' naturally follow. Bish don't seem to be as much organized as Knits, but everyone knows they've got more manpower than the Soviet Union at 1944 :D.

Rooks have some good squads.. the 412th BMs put up interesting and effective missions, and time to time thses are wildly successful, but i don't seem to see many 412th members logging on latrely.. the Dragon Hawks also organize good missions, but not many people notice it and usually I and a few other people are the only ones outside the squad who choose to fly with them... BFD and DEMAN organizes the only thing hugely successful in Rook organization: the multi-squad organized assaults.. but this only works when there are multiple Rook squads online.

End result: Even when we have the hugest numbers, we welcome the other two countries to pour down the bombs on us :) We seldom go all out on a single front.. most often the Rooks fight two fronts with blind devotion ..

Oh well, at least we ain't liable of being accused for 'gang-banging' one country  :)

 ..

ps) oh yeah.. we Rooks sometimes have it good when some squads rotate to our country from time to time .. but after a while, they seem to be horrified of Rook incompetency and can't wait till the tour ends so they can rotate back to where they were :D

The more views i get into knit and rookland, the more i see bishland.

i suspect it's the same all over.

if a mission won't cut it, start putting up on the country channel the status of a field you are at. Or take a toejam load or ords somewhere, mess the place up then give out a status report.

'a17, all field and city acks down. radar down. vh soft.'

Then go back there and do some more damage. when yer done, give out another status report

'a17, all acks down, city almost destroyed, Vh down'.

after awile.. more guys will put up a one line sortie report on the situation at the field they were at. Guys in the tower saddeling up will start to configure planes and loadouts to do some more damage.. some opportunistic tent snatcher will up a goon even and head towards glory... you could give birth to a new seige, create an even bigger and better mob scene monkey-butt gangbangin furball the likes of which rookland may never see again...

hey, yah never know... it could happen  ;)

It's not that people are stupid, but they are often uninterested in somebody else's goals.  A lot of players get plenty of planning, organization, etc... in the real world.  All they want to do with their 30 minutes of fun time is shoot down a couple of spitfires.  If it takes time and planning to do it, there are a number of players who are not going to be up for it.  Nobody ever has to beg people to come to a furball.  Quick action attracts a certain number of players, and if what I've seen over the last 5 years is any indication, quick action is what most players want.

Rammjagr, put me on the list of people never to ask to join your missions. As it is highly unlikely I would live up to your high standards anyway, I'm sure it will be no loss. Anyone that comes off as caustic as you did earns an instant ignore in the arena for sure (from me, anyway).

I love missions. I love to fly em. But I love to make em even more.

There's no bigger joy than seeing an armada of P-38's behind you, feeling all big 'n powerful 'n stuff.. and watching all but 3 or 4 of them auger on their first attack run. Sheep laugh, we blush, the red cons fart at us and send their n1ks, spits and la7s up to give us a quick date with the whooly daisies.

Aaahh.. them missions rule :)

Its all for fun!  i agree tac..  tonight some knights scrapped together their fighter/buff perks and had an insanely fun combined jet field attack to a51.  I knew the mission would somehow become snafu'd, but it was still a great time.  A change of pace and a little risk taking is all I need to have some fun in AH :)  Screw your score for a tour, risk your perks, enjoy AH the way you want to enjoy it..  If you want missions, organize them, if not, then go nuts in your own way.

you Know when you start out a thread calling your target audience unflatering names It really does little to enhance your idea for anyone reading it. I fly Rook and when we feel like mission building with FTSeeker and the other squads in our time Zone we have FUN and do well, And I think your thead reaks of BOVINE POO POO!

Ahh... masterbation... so that's what mission guys do with all that time.   Well.... better than doing nothing or talking about the kids new braces on RW I suppose.    Still..... fighting is kinda fun for me.

Gotta say..  last night there were plenty of great fights at two locations where the fields were relatively close.   hours of fun.   Sometimes it works out my way and sometimes it works out yours.   Can't imagine why you couldn't do a mission at some other fields tho so that both of us could have fun.

rammjagr, what I saw yesterday is what I've seen in the past weeks. Too few rooks, totally gangbanged and outnumbered by the enemy. Some of them being vulched over'n over, some others being shot down over'n over trying to stop the enemy hordes near their bases and some few trying to accomplish squad oriented missions (not posted) just to find a wall of enemies waaiting for them at the designed targets.
A planned and populated mission could have been fun for sure, but the people were too busy at all fronts even to read the country channel.

Are the other countries more organized? Well, having each one two or three players for every one at Rookland it is easy to organize anything.
