What about a more flexible account and billing system?

One thing that always bothered me was and is the way AH handles Useraccounts.

We only have the following choices

Create account and pay.

Create account and pay not.

Delete account when you dont want to pay anymore or just for a while.

Especially the last point could be changed. If someone takes a break, or is forced away from AH for a time, he can choose to still pay or delete his account with NameTag and Perks.

I would find it better AH would handle billing the following way.

You create and account. And after free trial is over, you can subscribe or not. Till here everything like now.
But now you want to take a break or something similar. Instead of deleting the total account, you just cancel your sub. The account stays active for H2H and remembers all perks for the MA.
Now after the break, you just select to resubscribe, and your account is set back to be active for the MA.

Also there could be 3 types of subscription:

Daily, counts for 24 hours, could be 1.95$ or 2.95$ not renewing at end of sub

Monthly, counts for one once from day of sub, for the standard 14.95$, this sub renews if not otherwise noted by the user

6 Month sub, for about 79.95$, is for a half year, and doesnt renew at its end.

What you think of those ideas?

Great ideas!   I would really like to be able to take a break and not pay for a while, yet be able to retain my handle and perk points.

Being able to suspend an account, verusus cancelling it, would be very welcome imo.

To suspend  an account would a good service for the customers.
I have seen several leaving AcesHigh, taking a break for some time (no time, no job..) and some who didn't com back .
It would be a encouragement to come back, if their account would be stored for one year.

Daily subscription will not work, because you pay for your account  ahead.
So HTC would have to bill the clients credit card for each day . That means the  costs and work they have once a month, they would have every day.
I think, one reason for the 6month offer was saving these costs and work.

I agree that we should be able to suspend our accounts, but do not think it is a good idea to have less than 1 month payment options.

Just one thing about the 1Day sub.

Back in my FA days, they had it, and they had never any prob to charge your creditcard, trust me ;)

It was very simple handle there, the CC was charged the 1st day of any subtype, so even on the 1day sub, the money was theirs.
