« on: January 24, 2002, 11:18:49 AM »
Just finished puting together an AMD2000+ (Asus A7v266-e) with 512MB and Lin Lu case with extra fan on top (chimney).. also put on a silverado cpu cooler.....

Question is from power on Asus probe says 51c... intransfering files (new sys) it goes to maybe 53 (probe working).... further testing with AH tonight.. but 51 seems high as static temp... any thoughts........

That is an OK Temperature, as long as its stable.
My Athlon idles at 47 and around 54c when running AH.
Thats inside a closed case, inside a desk.

You should only be worried if it reaches the 60c

Of course, the lower it is is always better.

Im not familiar with the silverado cooler, but that's the biggest factor on your CPU temperature. A good aircooler costs a bit and features probably a delta 7000rpm fan.. I don't like the noise so I went for watercooling.
