That's right, some nice green uniforms.  No desert camo for us.  "Why?", you may ask.  Easy, our government doesn't give a fly f#$% about our service men and women.  Hell, our navy is flying Sea Kings that are over 40 yrs old, and plan on using them for the next 10-15 years!!

Not only are we the laughing stock of the military community, but they are needlessly endangering the lives of the very people that have bravely decided that they love this country enough to defend it.

to all the countries out there who's governments support and cherish their fighting men and women.  I wish ours was one of them.

Thrawn, maybe this will make ya feel better. I deployed from Europe as part of VII Corps for Operation Desert Shield/Storm. We wore regular woodland BDU uniforms throughout the entire operation and actually used the woodland camo nets to "camouflage" our equipment. It wasn't until 3 months after the war and 2 weeks before we left that they decided to bring us some desert uniforms...just so we wouldn't go home and step off the plane in our woodland uniforms. They didn't want the public thinking that we weren't taken care of. Nothing disguises a truck in the middle of a desert quite like a 100 square meter dark green camo net. :)

Heheh, I read about that in Franks and Clancy's book.  But, this is just the strawn that broke the camels back.  We're always doing watermelon like this.

Aren't the Canadians using that fairly new "digital" camo pattern?  Maybe the "system" simply hasn't had time to spin up and produce desert colors in mass quantities?

Yep thats our new stuff. Thats probably a reason we are using them there. "Look what we bought for our military, and see, we are using it" Gotta appease the tax payers and pencil pushers. I hope we get with the program and get some proper gear. Christ they could go to there local army surplus and pick some up.

newguy is correct.  Apparently, they are also making a small amount of desert camo.

"A small amount of desert pattern camouflage will be produced, enough to equip two battlegroups."

"The Clothe The Soldier program is the first major upgrade of Canadian Land Forces uniform and equipment since the 1960's."

Better late then never.

Apparently the they are way over schedule and budget for the combat bra.  Yes, combat bra.

Canada and two other nations are wearing green uniforms.Has nothing to do with not enough money. Now that fact that Canada has to rely on other nations transport planes(cause we have none)is an embarrasment. The current Liberal Party government(currently in it's third term)has decimated the moral and slashed to budget of our once proud millitary. We are only capable of peacekeeping missions and expect our friends in the south to do all the dangerous ops'.We have a batch of F-18's but almost half of them are being salvaged for parts.
