I have no doubt that 30 per is a reasonable price for unlimited play. I will not be signing up yet, more as a factor of available time. Perhaps in the summer after I finish the release I am currently working on (I write software).
Why has no one tried a price per plane? Maybe even a small $5 per month account fee.
I see the following benefits.
1. Real incentive to stay alive. It could be possible to make your next plane slightly cheaper if you bring it home.
2. More incentive to TO with a realistic fuel load. I would assume that most of the time the real pilots took off they had a full fuel load.
3. Cost really works out to a Pay for what you play.
4. Potentially a way to balance the use of the plane set by making different planes different prices. Or even tie it to the strat system. Fuel for your plane costs this much if your fuel factories get toasted. Ammo costs this much more if you loose your ammo factories. Not much, but just enough psychologicaly to make you want to defend these targets. Say alont the line of an extra nickle per 25% of targets destroyed?
5. If nothing else, this would be a good system to implement for scenarios. You buy your plane fuel and ammo. Allow unlimited lives. You just have to keep anti-ing up to keep flying.
Anyone see any holes in this?
