they are afraid to perk them because so many players are dependant on those death ray blasters.

heck I think I will fly it too since its so much fun to kill the enemy with one quick burst vs 2 seconds of sustained hits w other guns.

Perk them all and let God sort them out!!

I'm for perking the top planes ie Niki and Chog, heck perk the top 5 - my 109f will never be up there. Score and or rank should factor into what's perked for whom, this would allow a newbie a greater selection.

"...Introduce them to a planset and what do ya have...a MA full of temps and 152s and 262s...".

I would have thought that at one time, but now I'm not so sure.  The current perk planes are for a particular "style" of fighting.  No matter how fast the planes get, there will always be a lot people (like me) that enjoy a good ol' fashioned turn fight, and these planes are not suited for that.  I rarely see them around, and I don't think it's just because people haven't got the perk points for them.  Of course, I rarely get up to 25,000 feet.

It honestly has nothing to do with k/d stats or any other stat.  It's the fact that the guns are so lethal that in almost any attitude a good spray from almost any angle has 50/50 chance of hittin' ya.  No flying skill(as it is in game) and minimal gunnery skills required.  It's very unbalancing IMO and those kills come at the expense of other players who value the acm required to get the kill, the same people I suspect are the hardcore sim guys...the ones that will continue to support your game when the next and better quakebird substitute comes out.  If we turn the topic to HO's it's even worse, how many of us would actually fly exclusivley like that?  The guns and lack of penalty for a very dangerous attack tactic over emphasize and encourage the persistent search for ho's by chog drivers. It's just not fun for the rest of us who refuse to succumb to the quakebird mentality, it's really just as simple as that.
You can say what ya like about AW, but in 4 or 5 years of flyin that I never once heard the term quakebirds applied to it.  You had to fly the airplane if ya wanted to get kills....IMO thats the way it should be.
I've posted this before but I think it bears repeating, I have no idea why a plane that saw what, 200 ac operational, meaning that maybe 150 were available for missions at any one time was even added to the game.  One that has proven to be so unbalancing and been a bone of contention since it's arival and yet is still here.  If any plane should be relegated to scenario's only, this is it.

Just keep the purchase price relitive to the planes position on the list. IE a sliding scale from 10 perks to fly the #10 plane to 100 perks to fly the #1 plane.

Things would quickly balance out I think.

How cna you say the Dora is unbalancing?  Kills are down by over 50% this tour and it is ranked 8th in kills for fighters.  Over powering stats?  Not really, just cuz its fast doesn't mean it should be perked.

We will get other planes with 4 hispanos...

hurricanIIc comes to mind

When that happens lets see what happens to the chog and niki.

Right now we are playing the map the uses the naval planes a good bit so the chog is everywhere.
