It honestly has nothing to do with k/d stats or any other stat. It's the fact that the guns are so lethal that in almost any attitude a good spray from almost any angle has 50/50 chance of hittin' ya. No flying skill(as it is in game) and minimal gunnery skills required. It's very unbalancing IMO and those kills come at the expense of other players who value the acm required to get the kill, the same people I suspect are the hardcore sim guys...the ones that will continue to support your game when the next and better quakebird substitute comes out. If we turn the topic to HO's it's even worse, how many of us would actually fly exclusivley like that? The guns and lack of penalty for a very dangerous attack tactic over emphasize and encourage the persistent search for ho's by chog drivers. It's just not fun for the rest of us who refuse to succumb to the quakebird mentality, it's really just as simple as that.
You can say what ya like about AW, but in 4 or 5 years of flyin that I never once heard the term quakebirds applied to it. You had to fly the airplane if ya wanted to get kills....IMO thats the way it should be.
I've posted this before but I think it bears repeating, I have no idea why a plane that saw what, 200 ac operational, meaning that maybe 150 were available for missions at any one time was even added to the game. One that has proven to be so unbalancing and been a bone of contention since it's arival and yet is still here. If any plane should be relegated to scenario's only, this is it.

Actually I have no problem with perking the top ten planes based on k/d stats for the previous tour.
Just keep the purchase price relitive to the planes position on the list. IE a sliding scale from 10 perks to fly the #10 plane to 100 perks to fly the #1 plane.
Things would quickly balance out I think.
