GT40 at Detroit Auto Show

Anyone know much on this?  Gonna do some surfing and see if something new is in the works here.   I get the feeling Corvette sales may drop a bit in a couple years;)

Car & Driver had a cover story on this car.  They said that Ford hasnt decided whether to make it or not, and they thought that it would sticker around 100,000 dollars if they did.  Personally, I would definitely get one if I had a spare 100k laying around.  I love the GT-40.

I think for a lot less than 100k you could build one of the replicas that are based on original tooling, with a 427 motor.  Probably not as comfy as the new one but almost undistinguishable from the orginal, mechanically and cosmetically, and performance-wise.

hell, lets all kick in 20 grand, buy the tooling and set up HiTech Motors. we can all have a GT40 for cost. ;)

While I will always be partial to Corvettes, I love all high performance cars. The GT40 was clearly one of the greatest. This remake looks awesome, much better than a Viper. I hope it is produced and sold in significant numbers.

If there is one car I love more than the Corvette, it is the Porche 917. I wish Porsche would make a modern, streetable update for the 917 like this new GT40.

droOoool!!!

I always figured when I hit Powerball and had a couple hundred mill that my stable would at least include an ealry Ford Panterra, a 68 Shelby (Mustang) KR500,  AC Cobra *427 of course), a 68 or 69 'Hemi' Charger as well as that beautiful GT40. :)

For starters anyway :) After all, there's 52 weeks in a year and I could easily dream of 52 different autos to own.
