Why are some planes slower than the others?

I agree, the topic sounds stupid,  
but let me explain.

In mission a large group of bombers starts with the same loadout, same fuel and the same climb speed.
Sometimes it occurs that  one or two are speeding away, while a few cant catch up what ever they do..
I do not speak of newbies, who use autostart and leave the flaps extended.

All are on autoclimb and max Throttle.
Most of them are together and keep their distances. But some have more or have less power than the rest.

This seems only to happen, if there are more than five in the mission slot.  But  not always.

Had anybody noticed the same?
Is there any explaination out there??

With bombers it is either: flaps, fuel load, bomb load (some people prefer dropping 2 1k eggs in the lanc at start) and some people don't use different autoclimb settings.

you would be suprised how different joystick throttles can be

i know when im on a large bomber mission, there are faster and slower planes.  IMHO i see throttle calibration as a factor in who has a faster plane.  even a slight discrepency in calibration can cause throttles to affect manifold pressure.

im also assuming that the faster planes you see are the ones at the front of the formation.  Im pretty sure that AH does not model the "goose formation" factor, but i could be wrong here.  

the solution is simple.  no person in the form should fly at WOT.  if all members of the formation fly at very slightely reduced man pressure. it leaves room for manouevering and for stragglers to catch up.

If two identical aircraft accelerate at the same rate, but one of them starts accelerating before the other, the other will never catch up.  This is simple kinematics.
