Canlt launch AH with latest update

Get 2 error messages when trying to launch AH.  One about AH linked to missing Dll file and another about a device connected to the system not functioning.   I don't want to download directx8.1 because Microsoft doesn't support uninstalling it, and if I have a problem with it, then it REALLY becomes a problem if I can't uninstall it!  Any suggestions?

You need Direct X 8.0a or 8.1.  Sounds like you have DX7, the new version requires 8.
