Be careful in missions
« on: January 29, 2002, 10:53:34 AM »
Last night about 12 of us upped in an Arado mission for enemy hq. I'm in the middle of typing a message when the mission starts and I find myself beggining to move down the runway. What's going on, I haven't even started my engine. That's when it dawned on me that I typed a b in my text message just as the mission put me in my jet.

Somehow, jumping into the plane made my text message window inactive and the 'b' fired my RATO. No big deal, but what if I was in plane that fired cannons or dropped bombs. If I'd killed 12 Arado's or worse, 262's, my name would be mud for a long time.

Juyst realized that with killshooter it may be impossible for me to damage other A/C on the runway. Nonetheless, I wouldn't be happy if I'd dropped my bombs and killed myself.

Beware! You've been warned.

Thanks to killshooter, you would only give your squadmates a good laugh :D

Happened to me once in WB....I was playing since 2 months, and was 1 kill away from my 1st 5-kills streak :o . I almost couldn't sleep that night.

One thing that I'd want to come here from WB is the kill streak counter and the last killed / killers list in the score table.

Also it was fun to see both the killers name and the killed in the kill buffer.

You wouldnt kill anyone but yourself directly, however, the bomb crater on the runway from the exploded bombs would prevent any aircraft from taking off right there.  (their landing gear would fold at the bomb crater.)  Therefore, yes your name would be MUD. :D

Believe me, i've done it myself.  (not in arados, but in a lanc.)
Luckily, the shmucks who were with me had a good laugh, instead of getting upset.

U sure about that Kronos?
I don't think that happens in AH. I have ridden through those damn craters in a P38 or a M8 and nothing happened.

non issue.

bombs dont explode when dropped on the runway anymore (since the car bombing stuff)

craters have no effect on runways...

Yeah, non-issue in the MA.

No problem for anyone but me. I was almost half-way down the runway in a heavy arado without my engine running.

Don't know if you can post missions in the SEA yet, if and when ya can beware when typing messages at mission launch time. Killshooter is off for TODs anyhow and we recently saw what can happen with a poorly timed rocket launch.
