Rocket loadout for Fw190-F8 needed
« on: January 29, 2002, 06:05:56 PM »
Any chance we'll see this anytime soon?   Is there any question at all about its historical accuracy?  I've got multiple sources that talk about the rocket-carrying capability of the F8, and I'm sure others have even more documentation.

It'd help redress the jabo imbalance a bit, and probably increase the popularity of the F8 too.

Agreed, the did go out in fair enough numbers.  I mean come on, some planes have load outs that were rarly if ever used so i don't see what's wrong with adding a few rockets.  The Germans could really use it.

we have a search function now there  is good post covering this very topic going back to when the f8 was first introduced into ah.

lifetime my k/d in an f8 is 2.5/1 I am like 19 and 5 this tour in the f8. Believe or not my 5 kills all came 1 right after another the other night.

Ag...aka Sachs went over 100 kills in an f8 to under 20 deaths.

Its a tough plane to survive in the main however its not useless. In hostile shores my squad of 7 190f8s were bounced by 10 f6fs.

We were on the deck heavy and we shot all of um down. we lost 3 guys to the f6fs.

I enjoy the f8 to read up on your current request please do a search some good info there. You may not like what you find.

I agree.  The Fw190F-8 needs its historical loadouts.

I guess it is about time to resurrect this horse and beat it some more.  We've only been asking for it since the F8 was announced. Of course the Luft whiner-whiners will be back around to tell us were whining again.

Not being one to like getting involved in the whine wars, this topic is starting to affect me too.  I'm sure everyone who likes to fly soley LW aircraft appreciated it when the F8 came out, even though it was sans rockets.  I'm sure even some of those who don't fly solely LW appreciated the work in making a new plane for ground attack and in giving us another option as far as ground attack aircraft.  I remember just before it came out there were posts showing the armament loadouts possible for the 190F & G series (I think funked posted it).  Numerous threads came every once in a while after the 190F did roll out.   A lot of them ended in flame fests.  It depresses me to think about how legitimate requests turned into flame wars which turned out to work against the cause.

I don't have much time to go online anymore, so I don't fly jabo as much either.  But I'm sure it would be a breath of relief for many when we do get rockets for the F8 and/or 410 later on.  I'm sure HTC has it in mind, I hope the idea doesn't leave such a bad taste in their mouths as to be completely hopeless as a cause.

Rockets on the F8 is something we're interested in doing, but I've been saving it as a filler project for when we have a couple of spare days before a release when we're looking for smaller projects to work on.  It had the green light once before, but time ran out before we could attend to it.  We'll see how it goes this time.

Thanks for responding Pyro!   Great news.

Sorry guys if this was a touchy subject or a deadhorse - I didn't realize that I was stirring up a bad subject.    I'm not a Luft-whiner; I just thought the Axis needs jabo help and the obvious easy solution was adding rockets to the F8.

Now, about that Ki.102....;)
