Question for Ripsnort...
« on: January 30, 2002, 06:26:51 PM »
Hiya Rip,
I'm wondering if you still work at Boeing... I know they're in process of moving out of WA... if you are still there, I'd like to run some work related stuff by you, see if you can help me out a little.
I'll send you my work e-mail if you think you can help. Thanks.

Dux.

I'm not Rip, but I work at the Boeing Everett plant. The Boeing corperate offices moved out of Washington to Chicago. The assembly of comerical airplanes, for the forseeable future will remain in the area.

The reason for the move (so we are told), is that Boeing is more than just a builder of passenger jets. They wanted to create a seperation between the Comercial Airplane and Corperate to better focus on the whole enterprize.

Far as I know, Rip still works for Boeing. Haven't talked to him in a while as I'm now on 2nd shift, and he's on 1st shift.

Is that good or bad?  When I was designing the tools for the 777 (tools that make the parts) we noticed alot of parts that had lightening holes (that lightening, not "lightning" for you mortals).
