MS sidewinder prob
« on: January 31, 2002, 09:40:59 PM »
I have a ms sidewinder presision pro that I think had bit the big one but I just want to be sure. Basically it is spiking real bad. Lastnight i set the higest slider at about 30% and cranked the dampening up 100% on both roll and pitch and it would spike full after about a 25% bank.

Try going the other way with the settings... seriously.  I find with my sidewinder it tends to go 100% early too.  Try setting all sliders to the top, and drop the damping down to below half.  Drop deadband down almost to the bottom.  See if it works a bit smoother that way.

I run the same stick, and I have a fairly normal curve.  E-mail me at sconrad@hfx.eastlink.ca if you like and I'll send you my config file so you can try my settings if you like.

There could be something wrong with the stick or it's connection method as well.  Are you running it through a game port or USB?  Mine's USB.

ive noticed after the last patch my sidwinder prec pro 2 is spiking, ive never had a problem before and ive used this stick for a year. it only happens in auto pilot so it could be a bug . have any of you sidwinder users noticed. if so ,anyone knows a fix for it.  my sliders are all the way to the top, deadbanding is low,and damping is at half. it is usb ,so maybe the port has a problem, i have no  idea ,so any help would be appreciated.         thx 38
