I salute you Wes, after discussing the issue, you politely accepted the comments of others and didnt attack or try to defend an unpopular opinion.

More class than most of us show.   Now, if we can just work on that caps lock thing.  :)

you can also bypass the filter by just adding punctuation at the end of the vile word.

person A is being a real jerk in team chat.. if you can get X # of votes then that person was EJECTED from the game for an hour.

To prevent abuse, certain limits would be placed.

Like, total players in arena when vote is started: X . % of votes needed to eject: X / 3 (3 countries) when vote is cast in CH1

CH2 vote = 20% of the X # of players in country when vote is started in CH2.

Penalty can be less severe though.. perhaps a 10 minute muting?

And since this is kept on the server, logging off and back on does not remove the mute or eject penalty.

I can just see it now, "Vote to boot so and so off because he's looking at me funny!".  While the vote system is an OK idea, it's something that can be abused really easy.

Until HTC is willing to staff the arena with GameOps to help police the arena, I think the profanity filter is the best choice.  As a former GameOp/Tech for AW, I'd rather have the profanity filter than having somone patrol the arena as a Language Cop.

Now a complaint feature that takes a capture of the radio chat logs so a TOS enforcement team can read them and take appropiate actions would be a good idea.

Yes, thats why a certain % of votes will be needed.

a Knit player will not be able to get 30 of his knit friends to boot, say, fester (bish) before he whacks all their arado's down. Why? Because he'll need to have 10 people from EACH country to eject him with a ch1 vote.

Ch2 votes are more conservative, but still needing a certain number of votes.
