New maps please, re-runs very very old
« on: February 03, 2002, 09:57:50 PM »
Without getting into the debate of which map is best kinda thing (talking about Mindano is like a Ford vs Chevy debate)....are there some new maps up and coming?

We are rolling through the same 4 (Mindano, Uterus, Baltic, NDisle) over and over again.  After 2 years of playing this game, the maps are just very boring to me since we are rolling through them quicker.

What's the ditty on new ones coming soon?  I know we have some talented map guys out there, is there any reason why their creations are not being used in the Main?

Also, please make the map icons what they used to be.  The "improved" ones are very difficult to read, even when zoomed in on.  I thought the old system worked fine, so the old addage of "if it aint broke, don't fix it" comes to mind :)

Uhh...yeah!!

Is there a North Africa (hmm...or Kansas lol) style map ever been done?  Would make land battles just as fun as Air.  Hell, it could be the "other" Mindano for people to squeak about.  "It's too flaat, it's too smaaaall...waaah waaah waaah" hehe...

I propose scrapping all the maps and getting new ones, if I see mindano ONE MORE TIME!!!! argh how I hate that map.  Ole Baltica is ok but that's beggining to get old and some spaces are too far appart.  NDILES is GREAT but some people have seen that map for a long time.  SFMA (infamous lake uterus) is good for ground battles but I hate the completly flat terrain.

I think a nice Crimea, N. Africa, Italy, and a Pacific map with island around Japan and even the Japanese Home Isles!!! that would make AH new and refreshing

Isn't that why HTC made the terrain editor?
We make them ourselves if we want more.

I see some nice works-in-progress and others in the CT, have those been suggested/submitted for use in the Main?

Nuttz...you here?  I know you have some nice maps, any made for MA action?

:) Thanx for thinking of me.  Althou I'm not part of the Terrain team or CT, I still am in contact with them. I LOVE this game, And Continue to make maps. You may want to look in the CT Forum for some post of mine. I DID ask for some help testing a Tunisia map.

Pokie and me are in the process of adding the strats. Probably by Saturday this map will be sent off to the CT team for review and testing. THEN onto another map.

I have 3 slated ,but  it's a secret!

The problem guys, is that very few "historic" maps are suited to the 3 way war we have in our MA.

This is one reason I haven't updated the Med map yet.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:  I wanna desert map!

it's good to see that some other people expressed that feeling as well.  :)

so, does anyone know?

by the way...has it been two weeks yet?!
