I don't click on them and don't know anybody who does.  But they keep making more ads, so there must be somebody out there clicking on them.  Who is it?  AOL users?  Mac users?  They must be stopped!!!

I concur... but I also feel the same way about junkmail and telephone solicitors... both things that have endured for ages.

One funny sidenote...

In the Portland area, a telephone provider (QWest) announced that they intended to release telephone information for solication use in the form of a database.  If you did not want to be on that database, you needed to notify them.  Response was so immediate and overwhelming that they decided that releasing the database was probably a bad idea and scrapped the whole thing.

I tried many pop up stoppers. None worked, really. I got the opera browser, it has a stopper built into it. I like it much better than IE in just about every other way to boot.

This works!  You have to do a little work yourself by inputing the pop-ups but after you've populated the database your good to go.

analogx has lots of other free goodies that work real good too.  Oh, and it's all free.  The guy who does this stuff has been on techtv (screensavers/callforhelp) a number of times.  Good stuff.

Try opera, http://www.opera.com .  It's a faster browser, and has a quick preference to block pop-ups.

It's only 10.7 MB, and definately worth a try.

Thats because you have to endure the flood at least once hehe.  let the "flood" go until it seems to have stopped, then click on the POW icon in the system tray (might be right-click).  You then get a small window that show's every popup that is currently on your screen...you double click on each one you want to block and then click "done" and they will disappear.

Every time you get a pop-up, you'll have to add it to the database as explained above, but...after you block it once, it's done for good.

No I dont:)

I am a very receant convert. 3 days. I wish I had dl opera the first time I ever turned one of these things on.

BTW. I am cheap, so I use the freebie version. Took me a few, but  figured out how to get rid of the ads. F11 then alt+spacebar then x. Mouse works different with opera. Right click and hold then left click, gos back to last page. opposite go's foward a page. Faster and more intuitive than the arrows.

Just stop surfing them pr0n sites..

I counter 1-2 popups daily if I surf much.. That's nothing.
And if a popup kills you while youre playing AH its your own fault, you should kill all internet apps from background from taking bandwith / cpu from the game. No wonder people warp around with 20 flashing banners updating constantly with a 56k modem line.
