Kill/INININ Macros Not Wanted
« on: February 04, 2002, 04:23:33 PM »
There's a squad that is starting to use a macro somethin like "INININ GRINNN" or some such nonsense. In the AW RR arenas this was acceptable, but here in AH there's no place for it especially on CH1, IMO. I don't think the majority of subscribers would like to see the text buffer filled with kill/INININ macros now, do we?

So, get rid of the macro please!

Macro is a pre-made sentence that you can "type" by pressing one button.

Think of it as if you had typed : "DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE" in a word processor, had highlighted it and used COPY command..

and then used cntr-V (paste) to make a whole page of DIE DIE DIE's in less than a second.

In short, MACRO's are SPAM.

Thank you!

I think our people in rooks are using one like this:

"check 6 mipoikel" And there is also a voice included!:D

Weird that it has also some coincidents with my dying. Allways after those macros I usually die!

;) ;) ;) ;)

I agree with MrLars on this one, we dont need text buffer spam.

HTC could also limit this by adding xxxx shot down to the system messages.

dweeb: ININ GRINNN
dweeb shot down

would be mildly amusing.

LOL Mipo!!!  Actually laughed at that one.. check 6 macro... must be really late.. anyway - was waiting for this topic to rear its ugly head.  :P  Macros were the trademark of AW but dont belong here... the "individuals" who "smile" alot and "replaze good old-fash'n english zpelling wit der own version" of the language dont bother me personally but as soon as we start seeing an abundance of kill macros something should be done.  Despite the fact that macros were usually lot of fun and a creative way to say "F you" after killing someone, most of the population in here would probably have a problem with that.  Half the fediddleing arena already squelches channel 1 so the emergence of macros would probably make conversation in the chat buffer a rarity.  :P

Express, one way travel to the tower has been provided by... *MISFITS*

LOL, macros are fun, but not here - god bless AW.  :P

Well, since this is not popular, they may have other things up their sleeve, such as:

Macro Macro Spam Macro,

Spam Macro Spam Spam,

Spam Spam Spam Spam Macro Spam,

"Eeeek" sound Spam Spam Macro Spam Spam

or if you'd like something with less spam in it:

"Eeeek" sound Macro Macro Spam Spam Macro Spam

NOTE: Monty Python's not-knowers are under no obligation to understand.  :D

people who use macros don't read the BBS much less this thread...   I am not sure that they read at all.

I smoked a dweeb but did not inhale

Sorry, I thought you were my ex.

The two macros I thought were the best that I heard from AW while patrolling as a Game Assistant.

Yea, lets keep the macros away from here.

The best macro is the squad name. those with permissions can change it every sortie. :D

I remember that squad that used to have Tom Brokaw in its name.. was hilarious. What happened to the fun guys? Bring it back!

Happen to know exactly who you're talking about and they automatically get squelched upon arena entry. Perhaps this would be a good time to bring up the permasquelch request again.

They annoyed me in AW, and they annoy me here.
