It looks like the GeForce 4 does indeed deliver a large performance boost over the GeForce 3.

All the GF 4 cards seems to have a large performance advantage over the GF 3 Ti 500.

The GF 4 Mx is kind of disappointing for the price really. :(

I wonder what ATI's response will be to this release?

I hope now we'll see real volumetric clouds in flight sims instead of 2d polygonal clouds.

Been waiting for years for this. :)

I don't think any GF4 card will do something my GF3Ti500 won't do right now. OK, instead of seeing 100fps I'll see 200. Hmmm. Boo-hoo... Since I (a human) can't see any difference past 25-30fps anyway - so what? When new games/sims arrive that will challenge what has just been pushed off the top - those GF4s will be superceded by GF5, GF6 etc...

But the problem is that most games will still be written with Voodoo 1 owner in mind (minimum system requirements P233 or something equally stupid)...

If you have a GF 3 Ti 500 already there is no way I'd consider upgrading to a Gf 4 right now.  You won't see that much of an improvement to justify the expense.

On the other hand, if I had a GF 1, GF 2 MX, or GTS, I'd say the $199 list GF 4 TI 4200 would be a good buy.

For me I get a video card every two years or so. So I will be getting a GeForce4 high end card to replace my 32MB DDR GeForce2 GTS which has been spectacular for the last two years.

I found out that the $199 TI 4200 model will not be available for 8 weeks.  I suppose this is how they are going to avoid undercutting GF 3 TI sales too severely.

Hmm...  I wonder if I have $299 to burn for the TI 4400 model. :D

bloom, you seen any overclocking reviews yet?  or does it have to wait until a new utility is made to change the settings for the gf4 gpu and mem controller?

I wanna know if ya can get that 4400 up to 4600 specs and it still be stable (much like the 200 can be OC'd to 500 specs!)

must know this...  and a 415D nforce board must come out soon...   must build new computer...

They talked about the new cards on the Screen Savers the other night.

They concluded that the 4600 is the only one to get and if you do you should have at least a 1 gig machine.  Dig deep for that $400.00!!  The processor will become a bottle neck if you run it on anything less.  So, if you haven't upgraded your processor that my be the first order of business!

Now what does ATI have up their sleeves?

Isn't it amazing how they always grab you by the short hairs, heheeeee.
