The Exploder is the worst piece of crap ever built by Ford.  I will let you in on a little secert: It is built on the car lines, on a car chassis.

If you want to get a Ford SUV, get the Expedition.  It is built on the truck assembly line, using truck parts and chassis.

Land Rover would be my choice. If/When you need to dig your car up from swamp or sand you would be glad if your car is lighter than a bus... :D

Hehehehe....If you like winching, I agree, you'll have great times with a hvy truck. If winching is basically an annoyance for you(and lack of SA ;)), then choose a LR.  :D

Cheers,

I own a Ford. But, at least I have the decency to be ashamed of it. O. Well it was made by Americans.

My Nissan was designed in La Jolla, California; developed, researched and engineered in Farmington Hills, Michigan; and manufactured in Smyrna, Tennessee.

How's that for an import?
