Howdy everyone! <S>

Thought I'd take the time to explain what the Scenario Corps is all about here in AH. We are an all-volunteer player organization that is currently the only "officially sanctioned" group, by HiTech Creations, for hosting special events. I say currently, because Pyro has informed me that he is working on a plan to open up creating and hosting events to other groups within the community. We are not paid employees or consultants of HTC, we are just regular players of AH like you, that have limited special priveleges in the Special Events Arena. We have no authority to do anything in the MA, except fight and die with the rest of you.  :)

The AH Scenario Corps' focus is on creating and hosting historically-based weekly events and special multi-frame scenarios. We have our own in-house terrain team, who provide us with the terrains we need to host our events.

We currently host a weekly squad-based event, "Tour of Duty", every Friday night at 11:00pm Eastern time. a Tour of Duty event consists of squads only, with individuals not affiliated with a squad invited to fly as a guest of one of the participating squads. We are adding a Euro time-friendly "TOD" on Saturdays, to begin within a month.

We also create and host large, multi-frame scenarios that either recreate a specific historic air battle of WW2, or are "What if" scenarios that are based on an actual WW2 battle. Since it's inception, the Scenario Corps has held two such scenarios, "Afrika Corps" in December of 2000,  and "Hostile Shores" of April-May, 2001. We are in the final planning stages for the next multi-frame scenario, "Big Week", to be held in early December.

In an attempt to broaden our horizons, we are going to begin hosting a weekly Wednesday night furball event, that will be similar to the "King of the Hill" event in Air Warrior.

Ok, so that's a little about what we do. Part of the reason I'm posting this today is because I want you to hear straight from the horse's mouth, rather then getting all of your information about us from our critics.

Some people think we don't hold enough events. They are right, and we are taking steps to remedy this. Some people think we are just a bunch of historical, no fun zealots. Guilty as charged, but as I noted above, we are trying to broaden our horizons and offer some events without any historical basis.

As the Senior CM, the buck stops with me. Any failing of the CM team is mine alone. If something the CM's do upsets you, blame me. Vent on ME. I am open to constructive criticism, but like anyone else, I don't like personal attacks. Please remember that the CM's on the Scenario Corps are just players taken from the ranks of AH, and are working to preserve historical scenarios and gameplay for the AH community. It takes an incredible amount of time and energy to produce the terrains and events that the Senario Corps produces. All we ask is that you consider how much of ourselves we give to you, the community, before you are quick to criticize.

I don't know what's going to happen to the Scenario Corps in the future, but as long as we exist, we will continue to strive to provide you with the best historical scenarios and events that we possible can.

I am excited and glad to see so many people arriving from Air Warrior. And I know some of you were very active in creating and hosting historical events in AW. I would like to see the best of those scenario designers and hosts join us on the AH Scenario Corps, and help us continue to improve our events. That being said, the CM roster is currently full, but as I told Tilt this morning, I'll call Pyro on Monday and see what I can do to squeeze a couple of you onto the team immediately. If you have experience creating or running historical events in AW or WB, and are interested in joining us, then please send me a private message.

In closing, let me just say that I can't promise you that the way we run the events here in AH will give you exactly the same experience you had in Warbirds or Air Warrior. The Aces High community is unique, and has it's own strengths and quirks. The same can be said about the Scenario Corps. We do things differently, but not radically differently. I just ask that you give us a fair try and see for yourself.

To read more about our events, please go to the main HTC website, and click on "Special Events" at the bottom of the page.

Once again, it's a pleasure to see all the new faces in the arena, and we hope that you give our historical(and our non-historical) events a try. With your constructive criticisms and participation, our events can only get better.

Good post!

Looking forward very much to the "furball event" (US or Euro timings? Both?), and I've always been a fan of Bigweek.

Hello,

Allow me to echo Seeker and Tex's comments.  I look forward to enjoying anyone's events in AH.  HT and company have put together a wonderful game.

Let me take this oppurtunity to apologize if I offended anyone.  My comments were not meant as insults.  I will try to find an article that may or may not shed light into my silliness  :).

Hopefully in the next few weeks I will have a better handle on the FM, and be able to enjoy the current weekly events.  Rather and flop around and die  :).

Sounds like the EXACT same setup as AW events historicly were done. Events volunteers had Bwanas in events arena(s) only. Ifluff'n you designed an event - you had to learn how to run it cause no one was gonna do it for you.

We'll settle in fine here.    :)

The Ploesti! AW event today was SUPPOSED to be a beta frame to test the arena setting for the 6 frame scenario. Alas, we may never have time to run it there.... And todays event may go down in AW history as the Swan song....

Nice to hear from ya banana  :) (You really oughta change your name, lol)

We may have caused alot of trouble (it was quite fun, actually), but, we just want to help. We're used to our ways, and will adjust. Except Cousin Arlo, he'll always be a dweeb  :)

I am here if you need me, anytime. I designed and ran Operation Pedestal, which ran last month. It was a 6-frame event. I was also the host of Axis vs Allies night, Full Realism Warnight, and Squad vs Squad KOTH for a short time.

Like I said, reach me any time if you have any questions. I do believe in the more the merrier concept  :)

Excellent job banana. After a while you will find that almost none of us were paid either, and we had somewhat the same "privs" as you have, it basically just goes with the territory.

I think from years gone by aw folks no what your position is and will respect that I am sure.

Keep up the good work, don't stop having fun with it . <S>
