Flight simulator or Tree Simulator
« on: October 28, 2001, 02:20:00 PM »
I will start off with a BIG thank you to Hitech and the staff of AcesHigh. They have the best Flight Sim on the Internet and the BEST customer support I have ever seen.

My concern is the direction of the sim.

At the rate it is going ( new versions and patches ) I will not be able to play the game without a 2 GIG processor and a GF3. At the moment I have a 1.4 Athlon with a 64 MEG Gforce and I am starting to see a different in game play so I can just imagine how the user with a PII or a PIII must be feeling.    :(

Version after version, patch after patch we all see new and exciting add-ons. Trees, Trains, Convoys, longer runways so LANCs can get off the deck, etc. This is all very nice eye-candy. I just think the price ( FR ) of having this candy is too high.

Personelly I joined this sim to fly and shoot down aircraft.....not to shoot Trains. Trees are pretty but I cannot see them from 10000 ft.    :)

Now please do not get me wrong on this, I understand where HT is going with these addons as it is to add to the realizm of the simulation but they have to be careful not to overload with little extras to the point where it becomes bogged down.

Remember, not all of us out there have TOP-END systems and until lately Aces High did not require you to have "the best" in order to enjoy their sim but if the addons and upgrades keep going at the pace they are, that is what you will need in order to enjoy the game.

My .02 cents worth.
