Community Message from "the other side" (lol)

One thing I'd like to mention to everyone, right quick. It's been said by some here that the latest group of AWers to arrive on the shores of Ace's High are not willing to become a part of the community. That they will always be AirWarriors that are digruntled that AW is gone and that AH isn't AW.

While it is true that many of us are proud of our AW heritage .. and that we will most likely always refer to ourselves as AirWarriors .... it's also true that we have either already been flying here or have been watching closely (from afar? ;0) the wonderful things that HT and co. have managed to achieve here. We're gamers and simmers at heart, just like the rest of ya.

We may be bringing some old habits and some inside jokes with us here (and, granted, it's not the most polite thing to do) but, believe me ... we are eager to become a part of the community and to contribute.

There are AHers that are just as familiar with old AW traditions, jokes, history and legends as any of us (some more so, for they hail from the early days). Hopefully it will be proven that there is more good than bad from the influx.

That being said ... nobody should be surprised or put off that there are just as many flamers, pranksters, jokesters and blatherers amongst the AWers as there already were amongst the AHers. There's more simularities between the two communities (hopefully forging into one)than either side seems willing to admit. I figure there'll always be a ribbing back and forth and that too will become part of both of our heritages (let's say the AH heritage). But let anyone truly come in to attack us all and I suspect there'd be hell to pay (not unlike the Scottish clans of old).

Speech over .. now "Piss Off!"  (j/k)

My ol' buddy, Westy .... the DISRUPTOR!  ;)

"Westy must die!" Brings back memories. Of course, having a bogie magnet like me on his wing was some comfort I bet.

 How's it hangin', Duckwing?  :D

<S> Arlo,
Good post.

I am sure that for every AW-AH transplant that ticks off the locals, there are 100 old-timer AWers that have the sense to use tact.

<S> and welcome to AH

Welcome and be glad that the icons don't display handles (dweeb hunts are harder to organise)  :)  Come in, grab an N1K or a F4U-1C and make yourselves at home...

Seriously though, welcome!  Please fly straight and level when I am on your six.

While I never actually was an AirWarrior (I'm an old Warbirder) I have enjoyed seeing new faces and some old ones in here. I did fly AW for a bit and net some guys who helped me when I went to WB. Though I am sorry that AW shut down.

<S> to the AirWarriors! <G>

Great post, just don't ask us that came from AW originally what we thought of AW as of late!  ;)(When you move from a Ford Pinto to a Mercedes, you never want someone to ask you how you liked your Ford Pinto.  ;)

Well, think of it this way, Rip...IF AW HAD
evolved in the fashiion that many of us would
have LIKED it to, then it's quite possible
that AH ( and WB's ) would not even exist
today and HiTech and Pyro would still be
generating scads of "A kill has been recorded!"
mesaages in the skies of Air Warrior  :)

Just trying to insert a bit of perspective here  :)

WW2 flight sims are a nich market.

In the end it'll be the Highlander theorim.
"There can only be one"

I admit I was rooting for AW (of course)
Now however, - I'd like to see Dale able to hand Warbirds it's bellybutton back to it on a silver platter. That would be justice. <eg>

Ahh... this is the "real" arlo.   So.. we can disregard all the other ones?   Except maybe the "whacky and zany mime" of course.   I liked the whacky and zany mime.
