The supreme irony will be if someone that doesn't care about perk, flies less hours and "works less hard" than you wins a perk ride and you don't. I want to hear you come back in here and say "tough".

ME163 would definitely be an interesting thing to fly and fly against.

Hmm.. not much word from HTC lately. Gut feeling says that either 1.06 is out soon, or they're making good use of the New Year's presants shipped to them.  

Please HTC, just a *small* update? Maybe a screenshot of the cockpit art?

I guess I must have hit the right nerve on the jerk tree. Doubt anyone will get enuff perk points by working less hard. Either spend alot of time in the plane or get better at shooting down more ppanes in less time. Either way I think they deserve the points. What else are we no-job welfare bums gonna do with our time?

I can't see the future as clearly as many apparently can; I can see the past 20/20.

If you think for one second your interpretation of how perk planes will be available is the only way... history shows that there is always a way to circumvent a process, especially in its first iteration. I know from looking at the past that we will indeed have people in perk rides quicker than you can dream, and they won't necessarily have to be high-time pilots to do it. I might be all wet here, but we'll soon see.

That isn't the point of my comment to you, Fscott. The point is you come across as "I have mine, screw the rest of you". I just think it will be funny to see what happens if you don't get your perk, and it is highly likely that just such a thing will happen. We'll see how wonderful you think the plan is then.

Well, just considering the fact that HT stated perks will cost from 50 to 2000 points, and can prety much gaurantee I'll be flying perks every now and then.

being able to "B&Z from 30k without getting a scratch" .... Yeah, that's what this game needs... more 30k jerkoffs with too much time on their hands in super fast planes making the game less fun for everyone else.   Sure, their cowardly attempts are easy enough for even mediocre pilots to avoid but they still will be a pain... dipshits who think they are the only people who "work" for their points or that they even know what kind of online "work" is worthwhile.   I can't believe they feel they've "earned" anything.

rip... What about people who have no desire to join so called "missions" but who still would want to have a "perk" plane?   Not really that important to me since i will give away my perk points anyhow but others...

as to not knowing what it will be like till it happens.... Allready seen "jet day" in WB.   You don't even have to have the brains gawd gave fscott to know that even one uber plane in the arena is one too many for everyone else.

"perk" points were designed originally to allow late war planes into the game... since then, they have been re-thought to be a way to modify behavior and ac balance.   At this point each "type" of player is lobbying for his particular "style" to be rewarded.   What has happened is that the whole idiotic system has been exposed as being complex, loophole filled and arbitrary.
 No matter what direction the behavioral modification takes, be it the action, fun set or the Amish set.... some whole group will feel toejam on.   And they will be right.   No matter how many or how few super planes are in the arena it will be unbalancing and unfair.   It will steepen the learning curve and frustration level of newbies and make for less action in the arena... Both things will leave most new (if not most period) players cold.

Shake...shake...can't wait till I get my P51H and pick off 109's low on alt and energy.

Shake...shake... perks should only be for the REAL working crowd. We pasty skinned welfare bums who don't have a job but appreciate your monthly monetary contributions. Now I can get that PIV running at 1.5ghz.

well actually... we never run into each other anyway since you would have to actually get down and dirty if you wanted to risk your precious virtual butt or lose all that hard earned (LOL) alt "advantage" to fight me and... I certainly am not going up to 30K to play hide and seek with ya.

That's alright. I believe HT is implementing a food stamp trade-in system only for welfare recipients. That means I can sarve the youngest to get my rides. ;0

Fscott, if you think in any way I am commenting on your life and what you do with it, I am not. It's none of my business.

What I am commenting on is comments negative and positive towards a system that isn't even fully implemented yet. You say it will be wonderful, I say the jury is out. Your attitude towards those concerned about seems to be "screw you, I got mine." I am telling you that you will possibly have a disappointment when the plane you really want to fly is way beyond your ability/time/wisdom/whatever to acquire. Then we'll see if you really mean what you say when you state that it is a fair system that rewards people for the right reasons.

Kieren, in all seriousness, I really don't care if I can't get a P51H when I want. I already know it will cost in the neighborhood of 2000 points, well beyond anyone's grasp at this point. I have around 1300 points. If I get a ride for 1300 points and then get killed, I start over with ZERO. I know that and I still say it will be a great system. So thinking that way, for me to fly a P51H, that may happen once every two months if ever. I don't care. That's the entire point of the perk system. It isn't set up to be a free ride for anyone who want to fly an uber plane. It is set up so that the rarity of these really late war planes will be rare in the arena. I'm fine with that. I'd prefer only seeing a perk ride once because I am happy with the current planeset. The P51D, La5, Fw190, and P38 are great planes to fly.

On that point we are in complete agreement. I really don't care for the uberplane business too much either, and in fact find more fun in the earlier stuff... more of a challenge. I've spent the last two weeks reacquiring the feel for the game and have begun to stretch out and try different a/c again, and find that the ealier stuff has been the most fun.

The problem there is you can't drag down that osti attacking your base with a 109F.  Likewise it is difficult to overcome wave after wave of incoming 1C's with the puny 202. You have to stay glued to the butt of an enema too long in that environment- not healthy. For that reason I have used the 51 as field defence fighter and the 1C for ack/osti suppression. Yes, even furballers occasionally help out.
