Hmmm. Putting politics aside, and any other excuses,..I do not see how anyone could not "see" that the Canadians simply outperformed the Russian pair. Whether the Russion pair had an off day, or new program or whatever makes no difference, they were just outperformed.
If we are to let decisions stand that are obviously poor decisions with the excuse of "well, thats the way it is", then we will never be able to get it all cleaned up and judged properly.
Subjective events in any sport will always be plagued with problems with judging, but blatant obsurdities need to be corrected.
I do have some misgivings about how they corrected the problem. Frankly, I think they should have had a skate-off after it was determined the judges were not quite being fair, but that is my opinion.
Coming in here and calling a country cry-babies, or putting a political spin on the problem is not going to solve anything and is not going to remove the problem that existed in this instance.
If you beleive the Russian pair skated better than the Canadian pair, please explain why. I would really like to know as my opinion is quite the opposite.
