One word: Hayate

Oh alright, one more: Ki-100

The 100 wouldn't be a vast improvement over the 61(which I find quite capable btw), but it would address two of its main shortcomings...those being climb and acceleration. Those 325 extra horsies would be very nice. Should turn just a bit better too, as it was somewhat lighter than the 61 iirc. I want one! ;)

Love the map, and trying the Ki for a few flights

Bring tons 'O fuel though. You'll need it in the search for a fight.

Heh, what was i thinking? Just go to the red cons, via the head to head carrier groups.

laz2, I present you, CV furball heaven.

Man this is funny. What a mess. I'm wondering if the F6 pilots are still arguing over who flamed my Zeke.

can the Spits from any Allied field (other than their starting A5 field) and I'd be happy.  :p

You really see that in a zero, even with an moderate altitude advantage, you cant run down an F6F flying in energy mode. Great for a realistic impression of the eara, but it does make you long for a Ki-44/Ki-84. Still, a lot of fun, I'll just have to try the Ki-61 with some initial E advantage when flying Axis.

Flying Jap pretty much makes you a target drone for allied BnZ tactics.  To add insult to injury, some of the allies are flying frikken Spit V's.

B-17's don't have to bother going above 10K, they are almost immune to Jap attack.  If all allied flew B-17's at once they could pound a field flat without any escort and most would probably survive the mission, with a couple of kills each.

The current setup is great if you only fly allied.
Not a whine, just a gameplay report.

For an opposing view:  I'm getting a kick out of flying Empire Hardware.  True that you aren't going to hunt down anyone who's trying to get away, but the Zero and Tony are very pleasant planes once you can get the Allies to commit.  As with the last Pacific setup, I'm just plain surprised at how well the Japanese do.

hey i just cant understand it! people not tempted by the japanese side?

why ever not? ok so the USAAF planes are tougher, faster, more durable and better armed! so what????
YOU CAN TURN BABY!!!
oh you say theres spit5s and 9s?
oh....ah.......er.......

YOU CAN PRAY BABY!!!!
sheesh what more could you want? :D

Seriously, the map is fantastic, but suited to CT? im not sure. As the setup stands it needs to be brought more into balance for both sides or it just wont attract people to fly as fodder for the allies side.
I consider myself a fairly good flyer and shot but i struggle in the CT as japanese and get frustrated often.I hate to think how it would make someone feel, who is totally new to AH, should they go CT first.it needs some fine adjustment i think.

IMO the new CT set-up is PERFECT. DON'T CHANGE A THING. While I do admitt the distances are long this makes you think more when you are flying a sortie. Also think this terrain is more suited to SQUADS flying in the CT. Long way to fly on your own just to "Furball" with the nearest field.

The set-up is definately not for the "FURBALLERS" who like to just fly over the hill to mix it up with the enemy field next door. Best stay in the MA if that is your thing.

One weakness with this terrain is the lack of good Japanese planes. While they do have the GEORGE they have no hot fighters like the FRANK or TOJO. IJN/IJA are also hampered by not having any strike assets like the JUDY or JILL. All they have is the JU 88.

HTC needs to get it's "Finger out" and work on this plane set. Would make this terrain MUCH more interesting with an improved Japanese plane set.

Overall, I'm having fun in the CT. (can't remember last time in the MA)
Just a few more Japanese fighters and some bomber and we would be set.
Heck, I would love to have a Val here. Yeah, it's a death trap but was SO much fun to fly. :)
