Windows 2000 Porblems
« on: February 17, 2002, 06:47:04 AM »
Can start AH but all I get is screen flickering, graphics changing all the time with a blue (sky color) flickering all over and exchanging the normal graphics, totally unplayble in 2000.

I have the latest drivers for my graphics card, I have tried with the ones I am using now (the ones for this card) and the Detonator drivers (latest too), I have DX8.1 and running a non English OS (Swedish).

Tried different video settings in AH but no luck :(

I have the same Problem. Try detonator driver 6.31. It should work, but in other games it is very slow.
Im Searching for ways to get AH working with newest drivers.

Try deleting all the video.cfg files (video7 etc) from your AH folder.
AH works well with w2k and the latest detonators, should work also with your asus.

Try installing and running this setting all display resolutions to 85hz or closest match.

Got it too work even before I read your replies! GREAT!

I reinstalled DX8.1, removed my drivers and installed the Non beta drivers for my card (had latest beta before). Works like a charm now!

Thanks all!

You still should install the nvreffix because otherwise your game refresh rate will be 60hz.

The software tells "The program was unable to read your display adapter setup information".

Should I install non-beta drivers?

It's not a good idea to run beta drivers in your computer.
First of all they often have bugs, secondly your display card is already so old that the beta drivers probably only slow down your graphics. They are experimenting DX8, T&L and shader functions which your card doesn't even have.

Your card will probably work best with some older, WHQL certified set of drivers which have been optimized to your kind of g-force.

Actually, this card is one of the newest Gf2 cards, fastest MX card (MX a bit of budget) but nothing old about it.

The MX series contains only 1-2 years old technology even if it's sold as new card..

Same still applies.

Btw I hope you didn't get the 64Mb DDR MX because it's actually slower than the normal MX400.
