What's a Boomerang that doesn't return?

A stick? Naw...more like a wreck. :D

Sorry, that was pointless...

Definately need that one gavor! The Boomerang and the IAR-80 are two planes I'd love to see come to AH. Two very nice aircraft too many folks do not even know about.

Oh boy, a souped up T-6! Now if they would only include the IL-16 so you'll have something to shoot down! :p

I guess everything is relative.   :D

Looks like a cross between a dauntless and a spitfire (with some F4F thrown in as an afterthought).......

I know it was only a stop gap measure until we received spits, but in hindsight they were quite a nice little machine.

Maybe one day HT will see it and by chance he'll be on drugs and someone will model it. By the time he comes down from the drugs it will be too late to stop the project.. etc etc....

Wishful thinking.

Whats this IAR-80? (gets out Janes book)

IAR 80 at first glance looked like the long skinny Gee Bee R-1's brother.

More info about the boomerang. It was quite the low level performer!

More info

I particularly like the sneaking up bit. Cruise behind the enemy at low speed and they couldnt see it until it was too late. Or luring the Jap planes down so the 38's could get them.

I bought some out of print references that I stumbled across on the Boomerang awhile back.  I plan to get my money out of them someday but I doubt it will be anytime soon.
