just because the p38 isn't the ultra-uber demon from AW doesn't mean it's wrong.

 Bingo!!

Bigcrate, don't mistake the fact that HTC doesn't camp out on the boards as a sign that nothing is getting done. I think the opposite is true. There are deveopment teams from other games who spend all their time on the boards touting their softwares prowess, talking about how they can do this or that easily. But if you'll notice, those are usually the games that get stuck in a rut. I can think of 2 off the top of my head. Silence on the boards usually means there's work going on in the background.

Kweassa,

Remember, most AW'rs flew in Relaxed Realism where there was no blackouts or spins.  If you stalled, you simply pointed the nose down and started flying again.  In RR, the 38's flaps allowed it to do a very tight downward spiral and, since there was no fear of blacking our or stalling, they could pull this spiral in even tighter than a spit could turn.  It could also do an amazing flip-flop to change directions 180 degrees.  These little tricks only worked against somebody who didn't know them, though.  In the full realism arenas, these abilities were largely negated by black-outs and stalls.

The P-38 in AW full realism was a very formidable opponent; it wasn't just a RR thing.

I would say that you haven't been here long enough to accurately make that determination.  Once you've been through a release, you'll be a better judge.  You can see if there is a correlation between what people ask for and what we do.  Of course, if you don't pay attention to what other people ask and only judge us according to your own desires, the odds are stacked against us.  Likewise, if you only look at what we didn't do and not at what we did, we'll come up short there as well.

Talk is cheap and the proof of the pudding is in the eating.  If your idea of a company "listening" is having them lull you with dulcet rhetoric, we'll not win that competition.

I'm sorry Pyro, but that obviously isn't enough.  But don't fret, I have an idea that might help!

What you need to do is interview aces with real flight experience in ww2 aircraft.  Not those old can't remember if I was in a P-47 or a 47 buick guys... but the real aces... from AirWarrior.

Get their feedback on how accurately your aircraft is modeled by allowing them to compare it to AW flight modelling.  Then, and only then, will you have an accurate game.

Of course, you're going to have to find a way to deal with the other 80% of the customers that feel you are way closer to realistic than AW could ever hope to be... but I'm not offering you solutions to all your problems.. just this one.

AKDejaVu

Disclaimer: This is not an "ALL AW PILOTS ARE LOSERS" post.  It speaks merely to those that insist that because it was one way in AW it was the right way and must be done here.

That explains why I've seen the "corkscrew plunge of death" recently. I've jumped alot of P38's as of late and the first move is nose down and spiral. Thing is they keep going. Oh well, saves ammo.
