I would, and do
It requires skill and patience to fly it. It doesn't TnB; it doesn't have to.  requires the most difficult form of acm, energy fighting.
The attraction is the challenge.

Well said Don !

It has all the atributes a fighter aircraft should have:

Awesome Visibility
Excellent firepower
Excellent high speed Handling
It's Fast
the -4 even climbs well
Sleek lines

This is the most impressive A/C in the AH line-up!

F4UDOA, how do you like the F4U-1? I flew it a few times last night and she handled really well. I may have to make it my ride when I come off the CV.

Any time I'm in a -1 I'm thinking that this plane has to have about the absolutely worst climb performance.  I'm not sure if it's true or not, but sure feels like it!  Surprisingly, I've done well with the -1 the past two tours (and the CT last setup) so there has to be something good with her.  I just can't put my finger on it if it's the plane or I'm careful in selecting an engagement.

And 2 out of 4 F4U models are perked :(

Notice also, that 2 of the 4 prop models that are perked are Corsairs.  That either says something about the model or the the present perk system.

Makerov1,

I usually fly the -1D because of it's extra climb ability. The -1 Does turn a little better but not enough to make a huge differance.

However when I do fly it the most important thing to remember is fuel. The -1 has roughly 65% more internal fuel than the -1D. So if your going to take 100% in the -1D only take 75% in the -1........

Holey toejam!!

In the middle of posting this artical I just realized that the F4U-1 climbs to slow in AH. I think Pyro screwed up the fuel weights?!?!?

Standbye for a follow up post.

Looking frantically for calculator:D

Well.... ok strider..  I'll try it but it just seems like it is too hard to fly and I'm really not very good anyway.
