Fields still remain the same distance apart, but it greatly icreases the length of the front line.
This is why you have seen the max number of bases increased, and the changing of the map on the patch 2 versions ago, it was to optimize for larger terrains. Our current game plan is to create new terrains as soon as 1.09 stablizes.

With 1.09 we have an aditional warning system and will allow us to raise the floor of sector radar.
This system will flash the icons on the clip board when enemys are with in a range of any target. It will create an air raid siren at the attacked target and will also give a simple audible "Warning " sound when a new target comes under attack. This will alow us to se how raising dar bar alt limit will work."

Definitely possitive moves.  I've always thought you should be able to approach a base undetected by flying NOE, but that the moment you come into visiual range there should be some type of general warning that your base is under attach.

Thanks for the heads up Eskimo.  That thread was way too long for me to pay attention to...yes, I'm lazy :)

My favorite quote from the thread:
--------------------------------
"It is not our desire to have more organized players in the arena.
It also is not our desire to discorage organized players.

It is our desire to bring the most fun to the widest range of people."

140 fields... but now the map has reached the 10k objects limit which is the max in terrain editor. Maybe in 1.09 :p Maybe then I can add Depots, City's, HQ's, Factories and other goodies :)

Nice map. There are a few mis-spelled names though..

And of course to finland you should put Kotka which was the theater of the largest airbattles in the finland vs russia conflict.

Kotka was one of the (or THE) most bombed cities of the war at that time. Finskies fooled the russians by setting up campfires on an empty forest bay next to the city. Russian bombers often made the mistake to drop there.. :)

I can still see the craters in the forest.

Looks great!

You missed out Peenemunde - home of the V1, V2 and host to operation Crossbow.

I still have plans for a Euro/US split scenario for Crossbow - the Yanks daylight bombed it while the RAF night bombed it - perfect for a multi time zone event, especialy if we're getting the Me110 (Me110 & Ju88 nightfighters, Mossies as path finders....)

Fdiron, every base has gv spawn points to all nearby fields. If there is water nearby, it has PT spawnpoints.

PimpJoe: The is also the main question of all builders :)

Seeker/MrSid: Europe has Hundreds of places intresting to add to the map because they were somehow involved in WW2 but with 140 bases and keeping in mind minimal/maximal distances between fields it is sometimes a matter of choosing. For instance, in Holland Rotterdam get the crap bombed out of itself which resulted in the capitulation of Holland. However, on this map Amsterdam and Rotterdam would be no further apart then 1/3 grid which is much to close for 2 fields :)

MrSid: Typo's in the city names are possible yes but keep in mind that I sometimes used the names as they are mentioned in my (dutch) atlas, sometimes i used the original countries names (like Roma for Rome) and sometimes I used the English names. Still has to be figured out but i would need all the english names or original names.

If fields are limited its better to add kotka than helsinki, because the capital was never the place where the major battles took place.

But that aside, great job. I'm not twisting your arm to do anything.
