CT Setup, February. 23rd - March 2nd
« on: February 21, 2002, 01:24:50 AM »
Starting this Saturday we will be running the 'WWII Arena' full planeset with the Graduated perks. There are a few tweaks in the perk values from the last time we ran this. Here are the kill stats from the week we ran this the last time (Feb. 2nd - 9th) :

As you can see, a few things stick out. The SpitV's stats jump out at you. It really had a disproportinate number of kills compared to the other allied planes. We made a midweek tweak on the ENY value of the SpitV, but it really had no effect. Perking the SpitV is not the solution IMHO. We've decided to lower the ENY value of the SpitV all the way down to a value of 10, which I hope will give some parity in the planeset.
This means, for example, if a Machi 202 gets a kill on the SpitV, he will have earned 5 perk points. But with the tables turned, and the SpitV pilot getting a kill on the 202, he only gets .20 perk point. Both planes are free, but the payoff is very different. You can fly both planes all day long, but you will earn perk points in only one of them.

The LA7's perk value will be lowered from 5 to 4.
The ENY of the FW190A5 will be lowered from 30 to 20.
The Arado's perk value will be lowered from 14 to 10.
The B17 and the Lancaster perk value will be lowered from 9 to 7.

Right now we are unsure about the terrain that will be used. It will either be:

A.Perdonia
or
B.Baltic

Hopefully it will be A. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks!

It may be just me, but can't see the kill stats u put up.  just an X box.

Nevermind, came up after the post.

Anyway, probably a good move for the spit V.
Hopefully we get the perdonia terrain.  :D

Thanks!

perhaps it was because the spitV was the one unperked plane that many felt comfy in?  pretty much most of teh allied rides had some perk, 38 and the later jugs due to ord capabilities, the spit9 was perked, the yak9u was perked, the yak9t kinda blows with the ammo load it had and gunnery characteristics. the 51d was perked, the 51b has anemic guns... the bloo planes were only available on cv's iirc... so what option for a ride did allies have that wasn't perked other than the spit5?

on the axis side, the a5 wasn't perked and look at the nbrs for that, ditto for the early 109's f and g2 (fergot if g6 was perked or not)

760 kills for fwa5, 109f and g2 (the non-perked axis),  700 kills for the spitV and p51b (the non-perked allied).

seems to me that some bias is creeping in here against the spit5, but hey, what do i know?  you gonna lower the ENY for the FWa5?

why make it harder for allied to earn the perks needed to obtain the allied jabo planes?

approx 530 lw perked plane kills vs  maybe 250 allied perk plane kills, perhaps the axis perk planes need to cost a bit more than they did, because axis seems to hop in them a lot faster than the allies hopped in theirs?

of course the allied perked planes seem to run better k/d's than their axis counterparts, wonder why that is? no matter, let's hobble the allies so the axis planeset will have a more "sporting" chance.

The FW 190A5 is the only one with a disproportionately high kill number.

Yes, but 362 of the 760 were made by the 190A5, and 524 of the 700 were made by the SpitV, two of the planes recieving ENY value adjustments.

See above.

Not trying to make it harder for the Allied side, just trying to get the SpitV down to a reasonable level.

Are you talking about kills by fighter perk planes? If so, you've apparently made a mathematical error. I just scanned thru them real quick and came up with 409 kills for Axis perk planes. 435 for Allied perk planes. Pretty close.

Not hobble, but try to even it up. There are, I believe, 23 allied fighters and 15 axis fighters in the game now. People tend to gravitate to the Alled side & the allied fighters are more versatile. We're just trying to even up the playing field. No bias here at all.

Thanks for the input though.

hblair, could you please post the eny values for all unperked planes on both sides?  or at least provide the link to the setup?

thanks.  :)

They're included up there in the original post. Click on where it says Perdonia or Baltic, same perk setup in both, just different terrains.

It's like the MA except allied vs. axis. Reset is the victory condition like MA.

bah, perk all planes to 1 perk minimum and leave the C202, the Hurricanes, the zero, 109f4,  and the yak9t unperked. ;)
