Open for Business!

Hello Everyone,

As some of you may know, I am designing a Training Website that is going to be the host of the largest and most comprehenisve set of training films on the net.  The website is in its initial stages, but there is already a good deal amount of film on there that I think will be helpful to those out there interested in learning ACM.

I will continue to post here weekly as I update the film pages of the website.  If there are any of you out there that are graphicly talented and want to help design some graphics for the website, it would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment, there are approximately 25 films available.  Many of the planes do not have film at the moment.  Really, the only area of interest at the moment is the Energy/Angles fighting section.

So, without further adieu, I give you The Virtual ACM Training Acadamy .

Enjoy!

aknimitz  ,
This is great so far ,is there any specific planes that you need films  of ??? make a list for us  (such as 190 vs b-17 tactics ) as an example , then we can start droping off our secret films to ya ,
and i hope you dont end up with 5000 spit vs spit films .
Great job :D

I'll ask the wife if she is interesting in making some grafics for the site and link some up for you to look at this coming week . (thats what she does )i'll remind her to keep it simple so it doest use up to much valuable film space !!

Hiyas :)

That would be awesome, thanks!  With regards to specific film, I am interested in anything that demonstrates specific ACM tactics.  Flat scissors, rolling scissors, vertical scissors ... made up moves :) anything that can be repeated and demonstrated via film as well as explained in commentary.

I dont mind 190vB17 films, as those are helpful to learn as well provided that they show "how to" attack a B17 and survive type tactics.

And no worries about bandwidth, we have plenty of it :)

Coming soon (or soonish. :) ) to the site will be detailed information pages on EVERY AH plane.  Stats, history, in-game performance data, and a few tips on how they're best utalized in the AH environments.

Thanks for the comments, keep them coming!

PJ - I am going to.  I just havent had the time to do that writeup part as of yet.  I figured I would go ahead andmake the film available whileI have it.  I am gonna start on that part of the page soon.

Eagler - I'm not a big fan of frames, but I will use the same font for all the pages.  Problem is I built the beginning part of the page with homesite, and am maintaining the page by hand coding.  I'll fix it tho, thanks for pointing it out.

Doberman - Cant wait!!

Woohooo!! some of my mossie films made it on the website.:D

I got a couple more films for you nimitz, i'll zip and send them to you when i get around to it.

P.S.  If any of you actually dowload them you may want to play about with the cockpit views (especially the dead 6 view cause it's awful) otherwise you wont be able to view the con losing their smash on the rope a dopes.   Unless you use the outside view of course;)

Oh, one more thing.  The p51 i roped is shane- please feel free to point and laugh at him for his silly flying on ch1.:D

NIM, nice site.

I have a small request:
can you add a "last updated at XXX" to the ACM page, or an updates list?
I would like to check back for more films when you post them but right now one needs to scan all the categories for unfamilliar film names.

thanks, and WTG.

I'd be happy to provide films of the best methods to:

1) Compress and auger.
2) Collect ACK pings.
3) Take the fight vertical when the other guy has an E advantage.
4) Miss an unmissable shot.
5) Rapidly switch views looking at nothing but empty sky.
6) Attempts to take off without a calibrated joystick.
7) Running into the door in front of a damaged hanger.
8) Choosing the last moment you can open your chute and still die.
9) Advanced spin non-recovery.
10) Rapidly drop to below corner speed.

I think I can honestly maintain to be an authority on each of these manuvers.
