So I signed up for an account and my game ID is 987789, and there's a few things I need help with.

1. What's vulching, I don't want to be accused of doing it.

2. I keep getting cut off with "waol has caused an error in supersub", any idea on how to stop it.

3. What's the average alt you guys get up to, I was at 5,000 feet (the highest I got before crashing into a mountain) and all the other planes seemed to be miles above me.

4. Can I change my game ID cos my brother put in 987789 and frankly that's crap.

5. Do I try and join a Squadron even if I plan to stop online gaming after 2 weeks and just do h2h.

6. Any other hints or tips for a beginner such as myself would be greatfully accepted.

vulching at times can be almost zen like.

once you get a pattern where evry turn another dweeb spawns and u blast him to bits and see that victory 10 by wotan victory 11 etc...........

I have made it to 27 in an a8 once 14 were kills be cause 1 dweeb kept trying to car bomb me ..........it was great.

I would rather vulch all day then anyhing else.

I only deack fields to vulch. I care nothing about field capture.

Long vulch runs are few now because some fluff dweeb decides to help by hitting the fighter hangers.

I killed the same guy once 9 times i was in a g2 he was in a niki got around 30 perks.

Bradys5 my ex squaddie was a vulch master in a 205...........

So what is vulching?

Wotan's got the right idea. I'll go a step further and say that vulching is a lot like masterbation. There are always gonna be a few people who claim to be too "pure" to partake in the act, but the fact is, everyone does it, and for most it's not a big deal. It's fun, even moreso if the dork you're blasting away starts to get uppity. Nothing else can turn around a bad slump than a genuine 10+ kill vulch run. Enjoy it while you can!

Accused of doing it? Heck, most of take pride in doing it well. To vultch is to kill a plane on or near the runway when he is at the greatest disadvantage. Most guys realize it is both the easiest way to kill, and in fact the method preferred by most real life WWII pilots. Unfortunately, some whiners who think they are great pilots and should never die complain about it, but it just illustrates their lack of brains (otherwise they wouldnt take off at a field under attack) and it also show they are whiners. I love vultching myself.

If everyone seems higher, go higher. I usually cruise about 20k.

Best tip anyone can have - read the manual. Go to the HTC webpage and read all the info you can, about how to do things, why and how things work, and about the way the strategy works. Do many lazy turds never do it, instead go online and ask endless strings of questions. Go to the training arena or practice offline, dont keep asking online "how do I take off", stuff like that.

If you get accused of vulching, tell them that they can up from another field. If they keep whining and upping, keep killin' them.

Anyone who whines about getting killed while in the runway is nothing but a moron. Kill them. Chances are, they'll up again in the same spot till you run out of ammo.

Vulching is cowardly and gutless and is the most annoying if not pointless act in Aces High (or any flight Sim). It brings out the "Quakehead" in the best of people, heck it brings out the butthead in everyone really. Those who partake in vulching, will most often find themselves gathering his boyfriends around to fire off endless insults combined with laughter beyond measure at "he who is being vulched", being surrounded by a horde of masturbating, drooling retards with big stupid grins on their faces is probably the most comparable situation. To whine about being vulched, even though it really is the ONLY real act of self-defense, will bring you smart-alek comments from all the "better than thou" and "Veteran" types in Aces High..ad nauseum, so don't do it. Just quietly find another field to take off from. You will find those who are most concerned with "points" and "rank" are who will be doing the vulching. These folks just simply suck at anything else, have no skills and really do belong in front of mom and dad's boob-toob with a Playstation-superpowergripfunkyglowworm-gamepad, a big bottle of chocolate milk and a couple of fps games

Oh btw... Vulching is only vulching if you do it all alone.. if you do it with a big pack (e.g. 10+ a/c) it's called base suppression...

Vulching is allways a good thing, if the people om the groundare stupid enough to try and take off when you're around, they have them selves to blaim. I don't do it unless it's a field capture going on, would guess mostly becaus the acks are usually up but it's a nice thing, and it gets even better whenthe guy you've killed 10 times start whining about not being able to get in the air

Here's the deal.

Find a wingman for a day or 2 that has played AH for a year or more. A day will do actually.

Tune in, and have him answer all your questions. Seriously, in 10 minutes, you'll be WAY further ahead than asking any amount of gameplay questions here.

Central did that for me.

Of course, you could continue to ask questions via the BBS General Discussion and wonder at the old school BBS responce drivel on time dated newbie questions that lead to nowhere.

Oh yeah, I forgot this tip:

Do not fly a P51, F4U, or 190. These planes despite what you might think are not good dogfighters for new players. They take practice and a skill that must be developed. They do not turn well going slow in a dogfight, and in fact will stall and spin easily.

Start with a plane like a Spitfire, F6F, A6M, or N1k. Get used to the game then try the others.

Keep your speed up, and maintain a high energy (E) state.

Well, I've done an entire "Teach Yourself to Fly" series. Find it at Do It Yourself Flight Training. It, like the rest of my site, is a work in progress, but it should get you started.
