« on: February 25, 2002, 08:44:45 AM »
Hello folks....think on upgrade.....

I have 600Mhz Athlon with Elsa Erazor tnt2 (32mb) and 256 MB Ram....

I want upgrade, but not have money for new Prozessor AND Graphic-Card....

(AH.. the true is I have the money but my wife would kill me  :D)

So what you think would be better???

New motherboard and prozessor....

OR

Geforce 3 card and keep old 600mhz for again 6 month....

On what MHZ the prozessor will "outturn" a TNT2 ????

Thanks!

Andreas

Sell your kidney and buy new cpu/mobo/vid-card combination :)

I would buy new mobo, AMD-cpu and some DDR-memory and wait if GF3 prices go down after GF4s are in the shops.

Is the advantage of the new ddr Memory much notable??? I mean why throw away 256MB Memory for miliseconds??? :)

For playing Aces High and if you're short of brass a geforce 2 would make a big difference over the tnt.  I played AH on a PIII600 256 mb ram and Geforce2 for ages. 50frames no prob.
Geforce3 is ott for your system tho. You'll get a geforce2 for ver reasonable money now, even a 64MB.
