Hilarious, they think he's dead.
If there is anyone that could pull off a nicer way to retire, it'd be that crook.
I never heard of any DNA or fingerprint test done on the disfigured corpse they claimed was him. And I wouldnt trust it either, the level of corruption and people he had in his pocket was so big that he couldve easily falsified them (as he did with many other stuff).
"Columbians" Thats a US state. its Colombia

"a pudgy, uneducated man who smoked marijuana " (from the Amazon reviews)
WTF? The guy had high school and university education. he did not GRADUATE from university, most of the drug lords never did, they usually left the U. at their senior years (although some "purchased" their degree later on..most as lawyers.. lol). He even was a SENATOR for a time.
"The Colombian government tried to capture him, but without much luck"
Hehe, here's a nice tidbit for you: He SURRENDERED once under a program in which he would be sent to a high security prision, this was when they pulled off the "no extradition" policy.
He was sent to the prision, located near Medellin. Interestingly, the prision was close to the Soccer stadium he had built years ago when he patronized the local Soccer team (which he was a great fan of).
And you know what happened? The guy in this "prision" had jacuzzi, personal massage therapists, computers, cable tv (unheard of in the country at that time) and best of all, he could LEAVE the prision ANY time he wanted.. and did so repeatedly to watch his soccer team play.
Nice eh? When the gov. found out (sigh) almost 6 months later they tried to take the stuff away but he just ran away and escaped again.
I havent read the book, but if you want to really read on how fukd up and ridiculous our gov. is when dealing with this trash, grab it and read, the author seems to have done a lot of background info on the country before telling the story.
