He probably changed his enemy icon color to yellow numbnuts. Notice how they're identified by plane type instead of pilot handle?

I'm betting he's a bit on the Red/Green colorblind side, so he's tuned the icon colors to something he can see a bit better. Hence yellowish for enemies, and possibly blueish or something for friendlies.

At least he took the right tool for the job.

And yes, the Jug has that much ammo. Don't forget though, each counter is the ammo load for 4 .50 cal guns. It's still an absolute crapload of ammo though.
