You can express your feelings here:

I doubt if it would ever get passed, but the proposed bill is a violation of my constitutional rights.

I dunno Thorns.  The power of apathy in the U.S. is rather apalling.  Look at the new Telecommunications bill going to Congress, already passed House and Senate.  Talk about violating things.  This one is a humdinger and all most people do is say, "there is no way it will get passed".

If that bill does pass it will destroy the business of local computer stores.  It's also going to mean higher prices for lower quality components for the rest of us.  This bill needs to be decisively rejected to set a precident that this type of bill will not stand in the US.  There's a big problem in that the companies that want this also control much of the US television and print news services.  It's likely that this will just sneak on by without even a peep out of CNN, NBC, or MSNBC.

(I always knew I hated Disney and the media giants for a reason. :( )

Never say never Tumor. Many people has thought it a viable plan enough to take it this far.

If I were you, I'd take a stand.

Tumor, that attitude is exactly why these types of laws get passed.  People said the same thing about this new telecommunications law.  Very soon now you will not have a choice about telephone companies, no choice for Internet service either, because everyone thinks, "Ain't no way that will pass".
Oh, and when the phone company decides to double your Internet service rate, you will have no where to turn.

All these people are doing is taking advantage of the fact that "we the people" will sit on our backsides and not do a thing about it.
