DAMMMMM, I new I should of took Chinese instead of Spanish in High School. hehehe

Lephturn, I think I would be opening up a can of worms if I built my own system, but I am curious and willing to give it a shot. I have an old Toshiba Tower, ( my first system. I think it was a 133 mhz.) Can I do anything with that or is it junk?

Probably a bad idea using that tower...  A new tower will come with all the wires labelled, a new power supply, and enough screws hopefully +)

Buy a new tower, they come in all flavors for less that $100 or a good one for up to $200+.

Building a system is quite simple, just read the manuals, and take a look at something thats already assembled if you have one, just to get an idea.

Another possibility is buying a custom rig from a small local store.  When I say custom, YOU choose the components, they assemble it.

We can coach ya as far as what to purchase.

You mean Dell? That's about as custom as I know it, in this city.

http://www.micropro.com

Dell, Gateway, Compaq, etc. will just sell you "the brand".

You will get a much cheaper and much more powerful system buying it from either the link above or from your local computer store (not compusa or best buy).

Trick is to know what you want :)

cc FoxTro there are likely many small PC shops around that you can check out.

I always buy local, haven't had any bad experiences that way.

Only time I bought something at a distance... i had problems
