Grieving Ansett staff give Air NZ plane the finger
« Reply #1 on: March 05, 2002, 12:10:06 AM »
Very sad day for Australia. I was on one of the last flights Saturday morning and personally saw the stewardesses crying and taking photos. For two of them it was their final Ansett flight. At the end they thanked us all and the passengers in turn gave them a loud round of applause.

Made sure i grabbed the last Ansett in-flight mag plus took a few pics. I'll make sure I keep the bag ID tags and tickets as well. Again, very sad. @*&# Air New Zealand.

I'm ex-Ansett staff

I put in for Redundancy in November after managing to find a job @ Sydney Airport Operations, but still have plenty of mates who stuck to the bitter end.

I don't feel any real disgust @ AirNZ, they've been outa the picture since Sept13 anyhow, but those Fox-Lew diddlyers have alot to answer for!

I think they both do. Those Air New Zealand management people ran it into the ground, i spoke to one guy at Melbourne airport who said they were stealing parts from Ansett planes for use on their own.

After i booked my flight the Fox-Lew thing fell through so I called to check I could still fly. The lady said that the week previous she had received a letter saying her job was secure etc etc. So she turned down a job offer. It's a real toejamty situation. I feel sorry for you and your mates tronski.
