I knew that dude looked familiar!  I don't know his name, but I know exactly which sheep you're talking about.  He's got blond hair is a BIG dude and looks like Hoss in the face...

Yep, Lt. Jerry Bragg played by Dirk Blocker, Dan Blockers' (Hoss) son.

Oh gawd I luuuved that show growing up.  I still remeber the night I watched the pilot episode.  I had been waiting for it like "Two Weeks".   Had my pop corn and coke and NO one in my family was allowed to talk except during commercials. ;)  I remeber it used to come on Tues nights.

Kinda stopped watching it tho once they started getting nurses (Pappy's Lambs ...pullleeeeze) on the island.

Ahhh but it was great while it lasted.

FYI-There is an episode where pappy "says" he owns an island in the pacific and theres a congressman that wants to trade it for some new F4U's to pappy well to make a long story short the REAL pappy is in that sceen at the party with the congresman, hes a 4 star genral in the episode if memory serves me correct.I have watched the show since when it debuted on TV.
If i knew then what i know now i wouldnt have watched it.BTW pappy flew the F4U-1 and later the F4U-4 he started out with the P-40 but that didnt last long. The show would have you think that the Black sheep were all misfits but nothing could be farther from the truth, most of them were colleg educated.

being college educated certainly doesn't prevent your being a misfit. Pappy built a legend out of his experiences, and like most legends, there was pleanty of exageration. But it made for a great story, and I don't mind that some of it wasn't absolutly true. It's like one of my favorite jokes:

Q: What's the difference between a Fairy Tail and a Sea Story?
A: A fairy Tail starts out "Once Upon a Time..." A Sea Story starts out "This is no roadkill man..."

Anyhow, Pappy's book was much cooler than Joe Foss's.

And whats with pappy flying a F4U-4???

Well, he earned all those perk points flying the P-40s, he had to spend them on something :)
