Awesome links. I'll read 'em more in-depth when I get time. There just aren't that many 109's around...

I liked this one...

The sight really does impede the pilots forward view. It really is a testament to the skill of pilots like Hartmann and all the other German Aces who flew the 109.

(Also online flightsimm pilots who fly the 109 exhibit much sK1!!z)

At the Warbird Museum in Kissimmee.  It is off US 192 (VIne ST) South about a mile from the Hoagland Intersection.  Ask for me, Bodhi, I'd be happy to show it to yas.

Hbair, they were not more skilled, they were just taller than you  ;)

What's the name ... Reilley WB Museum? It's next to the 51 Stalion ... If you never saw P51s without a single drop of oil, it's the place to go. They also have a Spit XVI at the Stalion. It's the famous 5 star Spit, you know the all light blue one. When you sit inside the spit ... geez ... no room for Fatty. Only the head sticks out from the canopy and the nose is far-farrrrr away. The gunsight line of fire is buzzing the cowling, "no" deflection shot.
Dat jugs bro.

Thx for the links Grendel and others.

Last Duxford show I saw a 109G2 being restored in one of the hangars. It was the 109 that crashed on landing during a former airshow. They said it wouldn't fly anymore (only being restored for the museum).

There are not many 109G2's in flying condition anymore,   :(
