Plane spins like crazy, always crash!!!
« on: March 10, 2002, 05:16:51 PM »
Hello. I don't have a joystick so I play Aces High with mouse. Is there a way I can play it with keyboard instead of mouse???"?
I would really like to play it with keyboard because EVERY time I try to do something like a flip, a roll, a loop or any combat manuever with ANY of the planes I almost ALWAYS stall and CERTAINLY ALWAYS SPIN LIKE CRAZY and i lose altitude big time and crash like a loser!!!!! This is a great game for every aspect expect I have problems controling the plane. Trust me, i have played lots of other sims but NONE has had the left turning tendency so much as this sim, is there anyway to fix this, a patch or crack or trainer or do I have to config it somehow? Please help if you can, thanks!

Bochen find the trim adjustment keys and practise on using them.

Enabling combat trim also helps some.. But the bottom point is that you're going to need a joystick to play this game.

Thanks! that advice helped a little.

but I am still wondering... Most sims lets you have the option of using the keyboard arrow keys, why does such a great game like this not have such a simple option liek that?
Is there anyway I can somehow get rid of the left turning tendency, (or tendency to stall and spin toooooooo much)

bochen for the cost of 1 month of AH you can buy a joystick.  for the cost of 2 months of AH u can get a decent one which will last you.

The left tendency is engine torque, u can't turn it off

i use a stick, and the flight model in AH is such that unless you are using autopilot, you are constantly giving the aircraft input through the stick.
it would be impossible to fly AH with the keyboard.

You should set up your axes in the joystick screen in setup in AH
I am unsure what setting work for the mouse, you will have to experiment.
It sounds like you are being too aggressive with the mouse.
Be gentle!

move ur mouse gently and smoothly . try to fly smooth and level and get air speed up .. ( if the stall buzzers going off ur flying the plane wrong )  stall buzzer manuvers come latter after u get the feel for the plane ur flying.
I know a couple of mouse pilots and they fly quite well . There not as good as a well practiced stick pilot but they hold there own .

also the auto pilot helps alot shift X  ,  alt X  and  X  learn to use that option .
If you not gonna spend the $40 ducks for a joystick $19 for the cheep saitek .. then pop into the H2H rooms look for "sysprobe's room " for he is a good mouse pilot and im shure he will give u some pointers .
