HANGTIME & THUNDER vs. (? &?)

I found this interesting when I looked it up.

Query results:

The Bf 109G-10 has 442 kills and has been killed 494 times against the P-51D.

I thought that by performance chart I saw earlier that the 109G-10 would have done better.

LOL.. 10k against a4's??

Man; I dunno. I'd rather it was at 20k; the a4 being so damn agile down low. How 'bout we spilt the diffrence.. 15k. Everything else seems just peachy.

And thanks.. 50 kills and your 109g10 is ransomed back; and I appreciate it. I also appreciate just how damn hard it is to fly in a furball. Salute those loyal 109 drivers that actually like the damn thing.

Ok; We got Thunder; Camel; Ammo and myself. Thats four...   The 13th Combined Pony Wing is born. Meets and training schedule in SEA to be announced... candidates for the composite wing will stay tuned for further developments. All may train.. our 8 best will fly on DuelDay.

As I understand it this will be a FWA4 v p51 exclusively match; 8 on either side; merge alt to be determined; in SEA, one death; last team still in the air wins it.

We gonna have a blast!

Salute!

I am mid way through our Halibut season, 6 to 7 day a week, 14 to 18 hours a day. I cant make it at this time, But the season is 8 months ending Nov 20th, i then go back to 9 to 5 hours with weekends off till Mar 15th.

As i have had 1v1 fights with Hristo, most memorable was in the old terrian. 15k merge W of F8. This fight lasted 12 to 15 minutes, his 109 & my p51. Neither of us willing to lose alt. On the 7th or 8th merge he nailed my fuel and as i take 25% with DTs i ran outa octane in short measure. Gliding back to mother earth, i was meat to his 109.

I had a sore wrist and my fingers on the left hand were cramped from jumpin to rudder keys and flap keys. It took about an hour for my heart to get back down to normal.

This fight was nothing short of spectacular.I would love the chance to go 4v4 or 8v8 at the end of the season.

I have the uttmost respect for Hristo as a good pilot and a challenging opponent. These fights are a learning experience that none should pass up. You cant learn tactics against certain AC without guys like Hristo (109), Leonid (La5), Gatt (205) and so on.

<S> all, and cyas up!!

Dog out.........

Umm...Ahhh....Mmmm...

Dingy, meekly pokes his head out of the barracks in Bishland and sees the invitation for a 10v10 Luftwaffle vs American iron duel.

He glances nervously left and right and makes sure Hang and Thunder arent looking and then pops a message in the mailbox addressed to "Luftwaffle Lovers Anonymous".

The letter reads:

"Dear Sirs,

I read with interest your idea of a 10v10 Luftwaffle vs American iron duel.  Despite being allied with Hangtime and Thunder and the rest of the Luftwaffle hating Bishops, I find myself, irretrievably drawn to such a superbly performing plane.

If there is room left, I would sincerely be interested in participating on the side of the Luftwaffles.

Hell, I love to make fun of em, but they can sure make a sweet ride.

Sincerely,

Dingy

Dingy runs back across the street to the barracks and goes back to pulling Nit lead out of his ass.

OK, Jagdflieger, we shall do first training on Sunday morning in US time, afternoon Euro. Around 3 PM GMT. Joined training with JG 2.

So far there are 6 of us. However, I expect quite a few JG 2 members to participate too.

Please, if you see greater numbers in TA, come and participate.

Meanwhile try to get as much experience in MA as possible in Fw 190A-5.

Please download RW if you haven't done so already. It is essential for this type of fight.

Hooooooly moly.

Just flew some practice P51D's against FWa5's in the SEA.. the A5 is fargin invisble aginst the terrain. The pony on the other hand; sticks out like a sore thumb.

"As it should be" you might say.. after all; the bright skinned allied A/C were that way to bring the LW to the fight, right??

Only thing is; when the allies did that they had a huge numerical superiority to the LW.. and was a key part of the strategy of bringing the tattered remmanants of the LW to battle so it could be eradicated.

So; that leaves us with an 8 v 8 duel where the LW has a significant advantage in aircraft climb, manuverbilty and visbility.

What can we do to even up the contest somewhat?? Wait for P51B's?? (a more historicly correct adversary for the FWa5's) Shall we turn icons on?? Or even the odds by using the historicly accurate numbers of at least 2 to 1.. ??

Certainly; as it stands, the way the graphics are rendered on a PC screen what we have is not at all acceptable to produce a 'fair' fight.... both sides should be equally visable or invisble at the least.

Plane quality is decidd by many facotrs, including camo scheme

I agree, US planes did not need to hide the way the Luftwaffe had to make their planes harder to spot.

However, it is a double edged sword. If it shines, it is an opportunist. If it doesn't, it is Luftwaffe

Or would you rather be flying camouflaged Spitfires ?

P 51D has some very important advantages over Fw 190A-5, but camo ain't one of them.

Let's leave no-icon rule, unless you all agree it should be changed.

Man, I would be flying for luftwaffe even without warm up and proper skill keep up for last 4 months, if I would have that account up..
For the first times after those warbirds days I am willing to go for duel sort of thing... or hmm, I did duel with By-Tors spit vs my Bf109, and also Camels P-51 in 109.
